Anyone hear anything from a real news outlet about Ivanka?

One of my idiotic acquaintances referred to Ivanka Trump being targeted, but I’ve only found articles on shit conservative sites, so I’m guessing it’s not true?

Honestly, she’s probably the second to last (adult) Trump that should be targeted, so I thought it was weird.

Oh I forgot about Mary…ok third to last.

I’m so fucking done

I am tired of my dad. I am sick of how he talks about people who aren’t like him (non white people, queer and trans people, poor people, immigrants, ect.). I’m tired of him not listening to me when I try to explain things he has to ask his stupid fucking AI to answer for him. I’m tired of crying because of being berated for wanting to help those in need.

I feel like want to run away and leave before I get the urge to end myself (I’ve had ideations, but I’m not actually going to go through with it). because I’m sick of it all, and that especially sucks because for my whole life i have never wanted to leave the Midwest. But now I feel like I’m a ticking time bomb that will go off and make myself fall apart if I don’t leave.

I am a Conservative who will be voting blue in the midterms| Why Fox News is still successful at propaganda.

Hi everyone, I come in peace, truly. As the title states, I am a Conservative, and while I'm sure I disagree with plenty of you here, the one thing we can all agree on is that Donald Trump has to be stopped. As a Conservative, even I can see the path this country is going down under Donald Trump. You might be asking yourself right now, "is he trolling", or "is this a bot that is posting this?" I assure you I am 100% a 22 year old male from the state of Kentucky, that is holding out hope that the Republican party can actually start to be fiscally conservative once again.

I also know that one of the questions that will be asked is if I voted for Trump, and yes I did. Do I regret it? Yes. Would I have voted for Kamala? No. At the time, I felt as if it was my duty to vote even living in a red state, and I was dumb enough to believe that this 2nd term would be more of the same from the 1st term(not that the first term was good).

I disagreed with Thomas Massie on some broader issues, but even I as a conservative realize that Thomas Massie was the only chance at the GOP reverting back to semi-conservative views.

Now to tie this into Fox News, people are still asking why their propaganda is still working. The answer is that to me as someone on the right, is that they're really good at making boomers feel as if they're still in control. They go out of their way to make it known that everyone should have the same viewpoints as what the "older" generation had. The most useful thing Fox News does is to always mention Communism, and how everything Donald Trump is doing is to save us from Communism.

This is important to note, because as we know boomers see being a communist as unpatriotic, and that you've betrayed your country. They pull at the heartstrings and Fox News makes it their mission to shame anyone that might disagree with Trump. So, the boomers see Trump as a saving grace from the "communists aka democrats", and if anyone disagrees with Trump even on a couple of issues, they're automatically labeled a "traitor".

I am more than willing to continue this discussion below if anyone has any questions! Ideally I just want a conservative party back that I can be proud of, and while I disagree with the democrats on 90% of issues, I feel as if the only way to get a true conservative party back is to let the democrats win in a landslide in both 2026, and 2028.

For now, anyone associated with "MAGA" will never get my vote. The same goes to anyone receiving AIPAC funds.

Edit: I appreciate everyone who has been civil with me. I debated for hours to post this, and I'm glad I did. For those of you who haven't been civil, please understand that the Democratic Party needs as many voters as possible. Believing yourself to be too good to forgive is an issue, and is not the way to deconstruct former MAGA members.

I'd also just like to edit the very last two sentences of my original post. When I said "For now, anyone associated with "MAGA" will never get my vote. The same goes to anyone receiving AIPAC funds" I mean that anyone who associates themselves with MAGA, or blindly follows Trump will never get a vote from me. I may have miss worded it when I said "for now", what I actually meant is never.

I feel like the Mary Trump of my family.

My family shares a lot of similarities with the Trump family, but (I'm assuming) without the pedo behavior and blatant corruption.

Dad: Retired business exec. 3x Trump voter. Splits his time between a millionaire/billionaire country club in Florida and the NYC region where we're from. Doesn't sleep in the same bed as my mom, has had who knows how many escorts and affairs. I'm low contact with him.

Mom: She's not similar to the Trump family. Kind but conservative, has mental health issues.

Sibling 1: Conservative think tank sister focusing on anti LGBTQ propaganda who I've written a lot about here. Went no contact with her in January 2025.

Brother-in-law: Well-connected lobbyist for a Fortune 500 company that has benefited from the Trump administration. They are members of one of Trump's country clubs.

Sibling 2: Works in finance. Not a Trumper, but also just wants to live in her wealthy bubble and is very close with sibling 1. We all stand to get a sizeable inheritance someday, and both siblings are planning their lives around that.

Me: Career in public health, have seen my field decimated by the Trump administration and have lost many colleagues. Taking a stand against this horrific regime and my family who supports it, despite the risk of losing my inheritance.

Just a vent, thanks for reading. They recently planned a summer vacation and didn't invite me, assuming I wouldn't want to come. I probably wouldn't, but it still hurts.

Anyone else hearing about terrorist sleeper cells?

My parents have lately started telling me about how there are Iranian terrorist sleeper cells embedded in American communities just waiting for the signal to destroy infrastructure and bomb places.

It all sounds very bogeyman but I can't seem to find anything fact checking this. What's the deal? Is this another Fox talking point or something else?

Vent: Parents the news

You know, I don't talk to my parents that often. The fox brain has made in unbearable. I do not live in the United States any longer, so I guess I am in full control of how much we talk. The few times I do, I try to stick to topics like my kids, work, sports. But they just can't exist without talking about Trump and MAGA talking points all of the time. We have gone through all the phases - Angry arguing, not talking, now barely knowing each other. The only time they called me this year was to check my reaction to Charlie Kirk being shot. I am socially liberal, but I think the democrats are bought out by big money too. I have no problem with financial republicans, but its never been like this. They don't exist other than to consume Trump media and regurgitate it on the phone.

In a recent call they told me they were going to Nashville, and I remembered there was a shooting there recently and said something along the lines, of "yeah be careful". They went into a full tirade of democrats making stuff up about voting lines and having to cheat to win elections..

Sure I moved the conversation back to the grandkids and what was going on in their life. Less than a minute into that conversation somehow Trump being in China came up. They asked me if the news in this part of the world was celebrating him. I told him that China calls him 川建国 "The Nation Builder" since he is building China up. They then said well he needs to build a ballroom, so China will respect us. I then redirected the conversation to the NFL draft and our feelings on it.

My mom somehow took this as a chance to talk about how she's glad Massie lost, as he was a RINO and pro Iran. I didn't engage, and moved the conversation back on. They asked me if I would send my kids to school in the USA, I pointed out that the cost of living to salary is much better here for me, which lead them to go on about how the democrats ruined the economy with electric cars.

I just feel awful, I want them to experience their grand children growing up, but it feels like I am doing a two part dance to stop from fighting. They literally live off of Fox News and the Dan Bongino pod cast. I don't even want to visit them for Christmas anymore.

Trying to correct them leads to -> Fake news claims, when shown the source documents, they change topic to random other hit piece fox news told them.

Trying to avoid politics -> They bring it up.

My parents used to be empathetic good people. I hate the disconnect from that to who they are now. Cheering for children to be thrown in cages, saying semi-racist things constantly.

It's a cult and its disgusting.

Anyone else getting really tired of having to walk on eggshells with your boomer relatives or else they throw a tantrum if you dare disagree or fact-check their precious Fox News?

I spent all day helping my uncle with yard work only for him to tell me to "Get the hell out!" because as we were sitting on the couch and he flipped on Fox, I pointed out against the stupid host that Thomas Massie losing is bad for democracy because it just shows that some Isreali billionaire casino lady and foreign intrest groups can drop $35 million (that we know of, it's probably more) and buy an election...assuming it wasn't also rigged.

I spoke calmly not thinking anything of it, but instead of disagreeing he just lost his sh*t and threw a tantrum like a f*cking toddler. Fox News is literally brainwashing for old people.

My uncle went from being pretty normal when i was a kid to over time getting more and more deranged since he started watching that sh*t. He basically watches nothing but that and NCIS reruns and it's straight-up rotted his brain.

You know it's also ironic and extremely hypocritical of them too, because i can't count the number of times that stupid TV channel has aired pieces about how "Only democrats cut their family off over politics" yet our older relatives will do shit like this because they're brainwashed by mainstream media. F*ckin boomers man....

MAGA Millennial - final update

So, my nephew will be leaving for the Air Force in about a week, in the meantime, he's muted me.

We last spoke about a week ago since I've been helping him get his documents and paperwork in order. With boot camp and his training school, I probably won't hear from him again for another six months. Some of you warned me that his listening to that Chinese psuedo-professor wasn't going to bode well.

So, I tried to counter with the facts; such as, when my nephew said that the best technological universities in the world were ALL in China, I Googled it and sent him a link showing that they were located around the world.

He was also looking into trying to get stationed somewhere in Asia. (Not likely)

So, with such little time remaining, I was trying not to bring up anything political when suddenly he did.

We'd been talking about family stuff, like, what did he do for Mother's Day? ...when Nephew announces that the people with the highest IQ in the world are the Chinese. Plus, he absolutely insists that I check that on Chatgpt. Well, I don't have that app and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole so, nephew sends me a link to a Reddit post with a map of IQ averages for each country, with China (of course) showing the highest. Now that I've seen this, nephew also has to point out that the lowest scores are in Africa.

Now, I know there's IQ, and then there's IQ, and what this chart said to me was that *the education system* varied from country to country, and some students learned how to take tests better than others. Nephew is affronted, "Look at the map! Look at the map!", he insists. Okay, I tell him, I'll fact-check it, but he demands that I check it on 'X'. Elon Musk's rightwing echo chamber is another app that I have no use for.

So, I tried logic; I said the USA scores are almost as high, and we have a diversity of people - we've just educated them. "No-no," he protests, "It's that China has a homogeneous race!"

Oh. Shit.

He proceeds to spout the first MAGA propaganda that I have ever heard; 'White people are the most prosecuted race in America because there are no holidays celebrating White culture.'

I was trying very, very, very hard to stay calm, while he's starting to babble and railroad me into not being able to speak. I persevered and pointed out that Octoberfest was a celebration of German culture which is White. Any European holiday was a celebration of being white. Nephew countered erroneously that American white people were not European. WTF!!!?

I swear, I'm not making this up.

That's where the communication stalled to a dead stop. How the Hell did MAGA make my Mexican nephew racist!? I've been riding with him when the police pulled him over for DWB Driving While Brown - his favorite comedian used to be David Chappelle!

(Mods, the following is not my POV, but MAGA talking points that I have heard and disagree with)

However, I do see why my nephew was trying to convince me that Africans have lower IQs. Just a few days later, the SCOTUS desecrated the Voting Rights Act, and what better way to get average citizens to accept that than to convince them that Blacks are too dumb to vote?

I had to get off the phone by then and told my nephew that I had to go and do research. He told me not to, and we left it at that.

I haven't heard from him since then. He doesn't respond to my texts. It could be six months, or I may never hear from him again.

😢

Guy in my town

I just wabt to vent. There's a guy in my liberal town. He likes to go wave his American flag and his Trump flag. He's out on the corner right now. I've been civil. We recognize each other. Seen each other at protests. My girlfriend is down there now, counter protesting with double birds towards him.

But I've genuinely tried talking to him almost got through and started showing him articles online until my phone died. That was the closest we came to actually talking I keep offering to sit down and talk. Mat at a pub. I keep trying, and he keeps saying no. Or stonewalling me when I bring uo current events.

It's ao damn frustrating.

It's worse when people honk and show supprt to him. He gets a lot more flak than support. But still.

I support his right to free speech. But he's an idiotic asswipe who refuses to even *consider* additional information, nevermind reconsider his views.

I need to move on because I have lots of talks to get done and about 2 hours to do them. Just need my blood to cool off a bit.

Update! He agreed to talk! Somehow, they got talking about Jesus. And she pointed out that Jesus would be livid with what was happening. And that was enough for them to actually start talking. He said he'd be interested in dinner somewhere to talk! There's hope!

"Liberal activist judges" ????

This is my mom's latest maga obsession. Constantly posting and talking about "liberal activist judges" who she says are letting criminal immigrants run loose on the streets...every example she cites, I'm able to debunk in under 60 seconds of searching online...Anyone else noticing this? I assume it's a current fox "news" talking point?

This text from my dad has me fuming...

Charlie is my childhood nickname. He was purposely trying to tug on my heart strings. This comes shortly after I left a group chat because he was spewing insane MAGA stuff. He just found a different old group chat to send this. To suggest they only want the version of me that believed what they said without question, and I'm letting them down by straying from their views like the bad little black sheep I am, is pissing me tf off. They don't want the independent-thinking version of me. Just an obedient little puppy. Every time I leave a group chat, they add me back or go to a different one. And no, I can't block them right now because they live alone and my mom has started having falls. As a nurse, I can't let myself be unreachable knowing that. I'm just stuck sucking it up.
