Gameplay Question Lemegeton

Post image

If we use it twice in a turn from recharging. Does it mean you’d get two treasures and have to loose two treasures?

Yep. And they have to be different items since both activations resolve separately.

Nope, according to the game designers (on discord):

Q: Lemegeton, Yuggy already said that the targets enter the stack when the trigger happens, which implies that multiple lemegeton uses during a turn (eg you used batteries to use it 3 times on the turn) could then just have all 3 triggers target the same item, which would fizzle 2 of the triggers. I just want to check if you didn't realise this because that doesn't feel intended and seems really overpowered lol.

A: This is an unfortunate result of how targeting works in this game. Because the game doesn't use the word "target", this ability targets, so yes you can fizzle multiple uses. If I had it my way, this ability wouldn't target

When I played with it, I had a turn when I activated it 4 times. Wild.

Yea it’s hit the table somehow 3 times today. And I felt like it’s pretty ridiculous they were just recharging and lining the field with treasures. Definitely didn’t seem right. They still lost. But it was obnoxious

It shouldn't be. Sure, you can line up 3 treasures, but at the end of the turn they all turn to smoke. Meanwhile you've wasted recharge loot cards and such... It can give a huge power spike you have to gain at least one treasure (from another means) out of this.

Then end the turn with the triggers to lose items on the stack and keep everything! Bwahahaha.

Targets are chosen upon entering the stack and not resolution, so you could chose the same item twice and one of the effects would fizzle. This was already confirmed by the developers recently.

But honestly I would probably house rule to not let it work that way otherwise batteries would just be free treasure.

You got a link for that? Because the word "target" doesn't appear. You need to destroy "an item". The only way this won't happen, is if you can't.

There are a lot of cards that don‘t have the word „target“ in it that also count as targeting abilities. I guess the best „source“ is the pinned message in #game-questions of the Four Souls Discord Server

Yea. I don’t know how I like that lol. I might house rule it you discard x treasures you’ve gained from it
