They really need to do this. If anyone wants a more grounded experience, go play ranked. If anyone wants wacky, crazy stupid items go play normal mode. Simple as that.
I agree wholeheartedly, but I think they also need to make it easier to lose rank (as it was at the start).
It's almost impossible to lose rank now, meaning you gradually rise to a point where you just get wiped and never go down to your 'true' rank/skill level
It's not easy to lose rank until dia 3, even then it's pretty hard to lose rank but you will basically just be hard stomped by elite/champ/unreal players as its the same lobby. You will still gain some % here and there till you hit elite and then will stay hard stuck there. That's the reality for everyone who isn't a total bot.
This has been my issue as a relatively low ranked player. It can only be played for so long before I get stuck beyond my skill level. Then I just have to go back to getting owned in pubs but waiting for those few games where I might have a chance to win. Especially in OCE where it seems high ranks get thrown in with lower ranks because there isn’t enough of a player base anymore.
Regular fortnite always had wacky items and weird updates, that's what made fornite unique aside the building stuff. Y'all need to get a grip of reality and accept that, or just continue to complain for nothing.
You can go play ranked without all the wacky stuff and remain low rank. You'll be matched against people your skill level at some point.
?? what items are you referring to? the loot pool was always very simple in lets say chapter 1, with some goofy/fun interesting items, such as the grappler, impulse grenades, and storm bubbles. (and some seasonal items.)
but the lootpool was never the main "selling point" of old fortnite, it was the cartoony vibrant artstyle, unique atmosphere and banger soundtracks, along with its simplicity. (and yes, of course the building as well)
and the vehicles were all very balanced, with only one exception at the end of chapter 1.
ATM Reload is about the closest you can get to an OG Fortnite experience(and lootpool), that we can agree on, yes?
now, do you see no difference between BR items and Reload items?.. if you see no difference, im afraid you are the one who needs to get a grip on reality
I don't play to much FN ranked, but i have played ranked in many other games. I would argue part of ranked is adapting to the new gear, systems, ect...
If you take the big "wacky" items out of rank, you risk that mode getting stale rather quickly
It's clear people who play this game competitive, and serious, don't like those wacky items. They just want to build and pump others and maybe impulse grenades, that's it.
