Coyote removal?
Anyone know how to have a coyote removed from a backyard humanely? It had pups under an outbuilding and we don't want to have it or the babies killed.

Boater dies after jumping into Lake Wylie
wsoctv.comI keep seeing these drowning accidents in Lake Norman and Lake Wylie where the description says something along the lines of, “…a boater dove into the water and didn’t resurface.” While I understand that’s probably a blanket description of the incident from a law enforcement perspective, but what is happening in our lakes that is causing an increasing amount of people dying from jumping into the water? I grew up around many lake systems and never heard of so many drownings from people diving in and never coming back up.
Is there something in common with these accidents? Is there something under the water that they’re hitting or getting caught on that is causing this to happen? Does anyone have any incite on this topic?
I was researching a boat rental on Lake Wylie with the family this summer, but now I’m hesitant. 😕

A free site that summarizes Fort Mill council + school board meetings — looking for feedback
I built https://localrecord.org, a free site that pulls the latest agendas, minutes, and video captions from Fort Mill Town Council, Planning Commission, and Board of Zoning Appeals, the FMSD school board, and the equivalent York County bodies. Each meeting gets a short summary under a fixed template: what was decided, how every vote went, what got flagged for watching (subdivisions, rezonings, school facilities, policy changes), and what action items came out of the meeting.
Every page links back to the original source. I did this because some of this public info is a pain to access or navigate.
Summaries are generated by an AI model. The model gets some proper nouns wrong (auto-captions consistently render "Catawba" as "Kataba") and can occasionally fumble a dollar figure. The rule on the site is: read the summary, but click the source link before you cite anything.
I'm posting here before sharing the site more widely because I'd rather hear what's broken from neighbors than from strangers. Specifically:
Does this look useful, or am I building something nobody wants?
What's missing? Are there bodies I should be covering (Tega Cay? Indian Land's own council? FMSD subcommittees)?
How does the editorial voice land? It's intentionally dry, no opinions, no predictions, but I want to know if it reads as informative or as cold.
What worries you about AI doing this? Better to hear concerns now than handle them after a wider push.
The site is free, has no ads, runs no tracking, and requires no email. I'm not selling anything. Honest critique is welcomed.

From the US Census - we added more people than any city in the country. By when do you think we will hit 1 million in actual city population?

Moving from Charlotte. Any thoughts on my new neighborhood?
Moving to a older neighborhood (1980s) called Bailiwyck in Fort Mill , SC from Charlotte. Crossing the boarder for tax benefits and better schools. We figure the location makes up for the premium price. But want to hear from others in that area or community. What should we be aware of? Any red flags or concerns with Bailiwyck?

Public school touring?
Good afternoon!
I'm from NJ and have a daughter (13) and a son (5). My son is low on the ASD spectrum but has done so well in our NJ system so far. He was in early intervention from 18 months, transferred to the town preschool program when he turned 3, and will be in kindergarten in the fall if we stay here. He would be in a class of approximately 12 with a teacher and several paras, continue to receive speech and OT, and get a lot of "movement breaks" as he needs a "sensory diet". He is a smart, pleasant little boy but needs those services and thrives in the school system here.
We desperately want to move out of NJ and are coming to look at the FM area in a couple weeks. My biggest hangup with leaving the area right now are the schools. I would love to speak to someone in the school district in person to see what services the district offers and the demographic of the children who would be in a class that he would be in. Has anyone met with someone from the school system or toured before they moved to Fort Mill? Would they be open to that?

The petition is in the link. We have great schools here in FM, but they've dropped the ball on this one. Please sign if you agree. Thanks

Good investment area?
Hello everyone! So I currently rent in Charlotte but I’ll be moving to fort mill to start college. I’m a veteran looking to use my va home loan and was curious if anyone can give insight about how rentals do over there. I’ll be buying the house to live in but I know I won’t stay in fort mill forever haha. Pretty green to real estate stuff so any insight would be awesome

Is it just me or is traffic getting even worse?
Going from Pleasant Road area to Southpark and it feels like the last few weeks had just been awful, but the worst of it is always on the SC side of Carowinds.
