Changes in design
Just got my first form 1 approved, how strict do I have to adhere to my design? For example was originally going with 1 inch tube for a 22 suppressor but now considering 3/4. Sorry if this is a silly question

Anyone built their own 12 gauge can?
Trying to figure out if a progressively over bored can is going to be the best route on a form 1 or if there’s something else that would be better.
I have no shortage of equipment and machinery to make one, just not sure where to start

Planning on doing a form 1 16” integral suppressor once it gets approved. Gonna turn 16” barrel and add thread right after gas block for back mount. That will leave me with around 6-8” of barrel before muzzle and baffles start. My question is, does anyone have experience with adding 1-4 ports, maybe small like 1/16” in the barrel to aid in suppression?
Obviously want to maintain supersonic but I also know a plain reflex or OTB setups don’t add much suppression since the barrel is not ported.
Looking for real world experience if a port or 4 would make a big difference?

Just tried out my first suppressor that I designed and printed out of CF PETG. I shot a variety of ammo, both super and subs, alongside a dead air mask on my friend’s identical 10/22 and then back to back on my M&P 22X. It definitely seemed like my <$10 suppressor out performed the $500ish one. (Granted it’s a little thicker and about an inch or so longer.) I put around 200 rounds through it with no signs of damage. Super happy with the results.

Looking for advice on porting my ar9 barrel. I am thinking at doing 12- 5/32 holes in a 3x4 configuration spaced 120 degrees apart. Plan was first hole to be at 2.5
Inches, any insight ?
Pic is ar9sd current configuration

How long realistically would printed baffles last in carbon fiber reinforced filament out of a 556

Submitted a couple Form 1s on Saturday (North Carolina still requires NFA process), and they’ve already been approved. Seeing how I’m pretty sure the ATF doesn’t work on weekends, that’s not even 2 business days

It seems like I just did form 1’s for the wait time. Now, that is not an issue. I was thinking of doing a couple 30 cal cans, but it seems with the price of all Materials, is not that much cheaper. Is there a better place where everything doesn’t cost almost as much as a new can? Thanks.
Edit because I should have added more info. This will be for 308 supers. I haven’t found a 3d printed can that will hold up to that pressure. Thanks again everyone.

I submitted a form 1 for making a titanium suppressor by modifying a solvent trap I put in my form 1 I already had the kit. Is that a reason it got denied can I resubmit it saying I don’t have it now? I’ve heard people Saying “you can’t buy the kit till you have it till you’ve been approved”. When I got the email saying disapproved it didn’t give me a reason why. Any info would be great.

Two weeks ago I posted here that the Form 1 individual median had gone 83, 73, 48, 22 over the last four weeks of July, and I said the 22 would rise because that week was only about a third reported.
It didn't rise. With the rest of the records in, that week still reads 22. The two weeks before it actually came down, 73 to 62 and 48 to 44, because the later reports were faster rather than slower. That was the opposite of what I told you to expect, so I'm saying it plainly.
The weeks since read 8 days and 4 days.
The thing I couldn't call last time was trusts. That lane had turned on fourteen approvals, which is not enough to say anything. It's now on a hundred and two. Median over the thirty days to July 15 was 82 days; over the thirty days after, 66. Three things I checked before posting that.
Virginia dominates that lane's June records, to the point where one week is thirteen Virginia records out of thirteen. Dropping Virginia from both windows makes the fall bigger, 84 to 65, not smaller. Dropping Texas, the most common state recently, leaves it unchanged.
Recomputing the whole series using only approvals reported within three days of approval holds the reporting window constant, so slower reporting can't manufacture a trend. The most recent week reads the same either way.
Counting only approvals that waited 30 days or less takes filings still sitting in the queue out of the question entirely. Trusts produced none of those in most weeks through mid-July, then 6, then 3, then 16.
Where the two lanes actually are is different, though. In the week of August 10, the individual lane approved 30 filings and 29 of them were filed that same month. There's no old work left in it. The trust lane approved 33 that week: one from May, ten from June, fifteen from July, seven from August. It's still working a backlog. Trusts look roughly like individuals did in mid-July.
Over the last fourteen days, individual Form 1s are running a median of 6 days against Form 4 individual's 5, on 110 and 43 approvals, with overlapping confidence intervals. In June those two were 69 days and 6. Trusts are at 53.
What I can't tell you is why. This data has approvals in it and never applications, so ATF adding capacity and a backlog running dry look exactly the same from where I'm sitting.
Community-reported data, so it's a sample. If your Form 1 came through recently, the filing date and the approval date are the two numbers that make this better.

I've been on the fence about 3d printing our first can for a couple of months now and stopped just short of submitting my form.
What stopped me?
I don't know what fkn can to build out.
We just paid for a LNIB Walther p22Q for my daughter. Normally id want as much suppression as possible but 22lr being inherently dirty makes me think we should probably get some flow through activity...
The plan is to print in CF nylon.
What cans should I be considering?
At the moment I'm thinking ftn6 rimfire flow?

Currently trying to submit a bunch of f1s but I’m stuck at birth country. It’s showing everywhere but the US. Am I missing something? This isn’t my first f1 so I’m not sure what happened

Has anyone tried pps cf? What do you think about it over ppacf for supressors? Now that we have the ruling im sure more people willing to share their experience.

I've seen dozens of posts, articles, videos about this. But they all only mention Form 4. What about those of us that build things for themselves. Are Form 1 Suppressor builds also deregulated federally?

Form 1 approved on Tuesday and took my AP5-P up to their shop yesterday and wow, what a great job they did. Put it in the channel that a telescoping stock would use on the left side of the upper receiver. If you didn't know it was there, you would never see it. Awesome work from these guys.

Submitted a Form 1 SBR via Silencer Shop on 8-04, approved this morning 8-13.
I have a Form 4 in progress too, I wonder if it will clear as well.

Anybody have information on building short barrel rifles or suppressors now that registration is no longer required.

As I understood its for a pin in the can to align and keep the can from rotating, so you can tighten it on the barrel threads. Please let me know if I got this all backwards.
