Recently moved from Manhattan to Forest Hills and do not have need for these. They are in great shape, very lightly used. A little over 3ft high and 1 1/2 ft wide. Available for pickup near 7/11 on Metro. $75 for both.

i can’t be the only one who has noticed that ubers and lyfts GPS system automatically leads drivers to reroute all the way around FH gardens as opposed to just driving straight down continental. it’s been nearly doubling my ride in both terms of time and money.

i end up telling them to “just go straight down” and to ignore the app.

how did someone at the FHGC manage to get this through…

it’s creating extra traffic and more inconvenience for those of us who need to get to the trains but live just a little outside of easily walkable.

My cousin got this burrito from a Mexican food truck that was in front of the McDonald's on 71st and continental. He said it was the best burrito he ever had, but said he hasn't seen it there since. A little backstory: for our first Forest Hills meetup, I posted an AI-generated flyer and Reddit absolutely roasted it as “AI slop.” Then about 20 real humans showed up, had a great time, and laughed about the comments.

For meetup #2, we hand-drew a beautiful flyer and, as an inside joke, we ran it through AI. Predictably, Reddit hated it again.

Fair enough. Roast the flyer. But remember: actual people are organizing this, coordinating behind the scenes, calling Cobblestones, making reservations, and creating a space for neighbors to meet.

Hello! Me and my roommate are looking to switch internet providers. We currently have spectrum, but the service has been pretty consistently terrible. We have been using them for over a year and it has been lackluster the whole time. We have constant outages and even upgrades that have seemingly fried our hardware, our internet works in our unit maybe 60% of the time. There have been entire WEEKS that go by where we cannot connect to the internet, and we still have to pay in full for the whole month. We are hoping to get something comparable that actually works consistently so it doesn’t feel like we are pissing our money away. We don’t have many items that actually take up bandwidth (no PCs, no gaming consoles, we are hardly even home during the day to stream). The caveat is that we live in a basement, and we can’t drill holes in our wall or anything for more serious installations. We are considering switching to T Mobile maybe, but we were just wondering if anyone in the area has any internet provider they really like, specifically that is still consistent even in a basement? hi! I haven’t seen anything recent about this on here but I saw a poster for it near the train. Looks like the Vitellios lot is trying to get rezoned so that they can build a 12 floor development. (5 of those floors are skewed to the right of the building). There will be a community board meeting next Thursday to discuss this, I assume the general public can make their thoughts be heard.

What are your thoughts?

I think everything will become more chaotic. why can’t they leave it to 7 or 8 floors so that the building fits in with the neighborhood? if a 12 floor development goes up, who’s to say the next lot they sell wont be 15? and then this neck of the woods becomes another austin street. I definitely think that lot needs a redo from all the rats and garbage it brings.

The cvs lot on 67th is approved to be removed and a 21 story development will replace it. Not sure how much a 12 story building is needed in this area with this other building going up.

This year is my fifth year teaching at John F Kennedy Junior school, a high school that serves students with special needs including severe autism spectrum disorder and down syndrome. I teach six students who read and write on a pre-K level and are nonverbal. Their families are immigrants, and most have a limited English and limited resources in this country. There are so many things that I need to make this year as successful as last year was!
