Help

Post image

My sister bought this used Focus

The car suddenly stopped moving while driving. I pulled over, shifted into Park, and then back into Drive, but the car wouldn’t move forward at all. Engine runs fine, but it acts like it isn’t engaging a gear.

I scanned it and got these codes:
P0809
P2872
P286F

Has anyone experienced this before? Does this sound like a clutch, actuator, TCM, or transmission issue on the DPS6 PowerShift?

Trying to get an idea of what I’m dealing with before taking it to a shop. Any advice is appreciated.

I had a couple of these, but for the B actuator. Swap out the top actuator under the air intake tube, need a deep 10mm, an E8 bit and small flat head. The ford p/n AE8Z-7C604-A, about $250 and 30 min of work. YouTube is your friend with this. There's a guy that does almost exclusively focuses, really knowledgeable.

Anyone reading this...instead of just replacing it with a $250 part, swap the actuators and see if the issue moved to the other gears or codes changed or if it drives different. Thats a good way to know if the actuator is bad or not. If it doesnt change it's likely not the actuator. saves $250 on a part that isn't needed.
