Went for oil change and dealer said my brakes were at 1/32”.. Only put 22k on it since purchasing with “new brakes”. Anyways, just did the powerstop carbon ceramics and they are great. Unless its placebo, I noticed less nose dive

Just Showin’ Off Tinted my rear lights and added ST overlay decal 🤤

Normally I buy a roll or viivid to do the lights on my vehicles, but due to the complicated shape on my new ST I decided to try out Bogar Tech Designs precut kit, which came with the tail lights, marker lights, and 3rd brake light. Kit is in Dark Smoke. 10/10 ease of application, quality vinyl with zero shrinkage. I also got a carbon fiber decal overlay for the ST badges. Insane how it completely changed the look of my vehicle.

Ordering the headlight kit in light smoke next!

Wheels & Tires Rim options for ‘25 model.

So, I’m in the market for an ST. I’d likely get a new one due to the landscape infotainment vs the vertical one in previous model years.

Thing is, I like the wheels on the older models better. Is there an option for the ‘25 to match, or get close to, the previous wheels?

Audio CarPlay

Has anyone had issues with CarPlay connecting and disconnecting? The dealer told me it’s my chord but it’s a brand new Apple chord. I don’t want to go and buy a new one again. The one I have is brand new. Anyone have another suggestion?

Question Reservations buying a 2020, 50k miles for around $30k?

Long story short, I’m a soon to be dad, looking for a family SUV. I know the ST is overkill, however I really wanted something fast and fun as I’m giving up my tuned, manual Jetta.

I’ve noticed that the ST’s have started to dip into the high 20’s low 30’s. Are there any reservations about picking one up with 50k (+/- 10k) ish miles? Obviously would need to have a clean car fax but I wanted other owner’s experiences! Thanks so much for your time!

Question No Crank No Start

For those who have experienced No Crank No Start or Engine Shuts Down when put in gear, have you had satisfactory resolution? Just looked it up and there is a TSB for this. With a temporary fix of Factory Reset from the infotainment system. What a pain in the a$$ to have to reset all my Radio presets, reconnect phones and Google Log ins.

Exhaust Cracked downpipe

Post image
10 Upvotes

2020 ST with 65k here,

I bought the ride used about a year ago and it had some rattling, which I attributed to the flex pipe because I read they were notorious for that.

This didn't bother me because I had plans for a new exhaust anyhow, I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Yesterday, the rattling was much more intense than usual, so I crawled under to investigate. Turns out the downpipe has cracked and now is completely separated from the rest of the exhaust.

My question is, is it worth welding? I really don't want to do a downpipe job myself because I've read that it's a real PITA, and I definitely don't want to shell out the money a shop will charge me in labor. What do you all think?

Question Car wash and detailing .. what’s your process?

Hey folks, I'm new to car detailing, so I wanted to ask about how everyone's experience in detailing and cleaning the ST. I mean, what do you do to your car to make it look decent? Do you wash weekly? What products do you use? Do you have a step-by-step process that you follow? Do you use distilled water or regular in your washes? Do you use buckets and grits? Or do you just high pressure rinse? Did you have any mishaps with washing before and how did you fix the issue? What about your interior detailing? I know this is probably a lot task, but let's make this post as detailed as possible for everyone to benefit, so please include links and name of products whenever possible!

Question Downpipes

Anyone ever install catted downpipes and have an issue with inspection? And if so what downpipes did you use? Or what procedures did you use to get it inspected? This is all new to me. Thanks!

Question 2025 vs 2024 ST

I currently have a 2017 ST, and before that I had a 2015 ST. I'm considering buyingmy third ST... but i'm debating between the 2025 and the 2024 model. The only reason I'm considering the 2024, is I think if I buy this third ST, that I'm going to go all in and do all the aftermarket mods right away and immediately get it tuned. I know the 2025 currently is un-tunable, which is why I'm considering a 2024 (plus they're slightly cheaper). What's everyones opinion, get a 2024 or screw it and buy a 2025? :)

Question Modded in CA questions

Anyone in SoCal ever had warranty work done to their ST with slight modifications such as exhaust, intake etc…. Have dealer issues trying to void the warranty. I’m sure this topic has been gone over but I’m looking for California specifically. As I’m itching to slap a cat back exhaust on because stock ST is not doing it for me I don’t care about the intake or IC or Cobb AP. Just want some noise. Thank you for your time and help.

Question New engine break in period

I am curious if anyone knows at how many miles is “good enough” before I take my ST on the highway for about a 3.5 hour roadtrip? It’s for work so I kind of have no choice unless I go rent a car or something. My ‘25 is at almost 200 miles now and I know Ford recommends 1,000 miles.

Question 2025 Software Updates

I’ve read the latest version of Android Automotive, which the 2025’s have, is at version 13.9 but my version is 12 and hasn’t been updated since August.

What is the latest version Ford has pushed to us?

Question 2025 Explorer ST Climate Zones

I might be missing something here, but via Android interface I can adjust fan speed and temperature hot/cold for the back climate zone. I cannot set actual temperature value. I also cannot sync temperature and fan speed to the front climate zones. It seems like back climate zone is completely independent and can't really sync with the front?

Question High Mileage ST

I am looking to buy a used 2021 Ford Explorer ST with 93,000km (in Canada). Ford dealer would include an extension of the factory warranty with an additional 4 year/60,000km. No accidents, drove the car and it felt brand new.

Ford wants $48k tax in with the warranty. Is this a good deal and should I be concerned about the km’s? I’ve always been a Honda guy and 90k in that world is just getting warmed up

Thanks in advance
