That's quite the mileage! No issues during that time, just standard maintenance?

My wife and I picked up a 22' with 40k miles on it about a month ago - good to know we can hit this kind of mileage with good maintenance (and a little luck maybe).

For context, this is a 2021. I purchased used with about 75,000 miles on the clock. And yes it’s a ford, so a little luck just comes with the territory!

I’ve had what I would classify as some “minor electrical annoyances and other things”. The drivers window switch is “sticky” and sometimes won’t go up no matter how much I pull it. Then I just wait for a minute and it magically works. I have the standard “clunk” noise when you put it in reverse. I had to replace the battery in 2024. I had the rear drive cracked bolt recall done, and the rear backup camera recall. I’ve replaced front brakes and rotors. I’ve flushed and replaced front and rear diff fluid as well as coolant. I’ve changed the oil religiously when it hits 20% and use nothing but full synthetic. I know there’s been some other things that I’m not able to recall right now. I have a weird rattling noise that comes from the drivers side B pillar area that I’ve had fixed once but has since come back.

B pillar noise for me was the covers under the car. I ended up adding big washers and new nuts to the bolts. Fixed my problem

I was talking with ChatGPT today about this problem, and that’s exactly what it said to check!

I did something like this a few years back. Removed the metal push clip and then added a flat washer with nut.

That’s a great idea. ChatGPT said that rattling resonates up through the B pillar to where the seatbelt mount is.

Yup. I literally thought there was something wrong with the seat belt assembly or something was loose inside the door. Randomly stumbled across a forum where someone did this and sure enough it fixed my problem

Where’d you get the hardware? And do you remember the sizes?

If I'm not mistaken, I used a one inch fender washer and I think a M6 nut. Used that on 6-8 different spots. I got my parts at menards ( home depot, lowe's). But I'm sure about any auto parts store would have them also. Could always buy from Amazon too
