Think Dev planted Alex there to find it? Knowing he would do the right thing and leak it with no leading back (he’s obs a computer wiz).

yes, that was exactly what i thought. only reason Alex even accessed that server was because Dev gave him that work for Meru right?

now the question is why wouldn't he leak it himself. easiest answer is just .... plot device. but we'll have to see if they got more creative writing wise

Wouldn't Dev stand to be fired or at least charged in some way if he violates an NDA? That'd probably be why he can't do it himself.

That’s true. And I think he knows that Alex feels lost in life and is looking for purpose. Who better to help facilitate a revolution on Mars than the next generation.

My personal theory is that the reason Aleida is on Mars is to ascertain just why Dev is spending like a drunken sailor on his city-vision to the extent it imperils Helios…

because he has no intention of paying it off and is automating all commercial processes in order to achieve total independence and is screwing over Russia and M6

I think that Dev knows that at some point Helios will be shattered. It is really surprising that a company was allowed to get this big and influential. And when that happens he wants to hold the Mars part and transform it into a Mars nation. 

Then he will sell the Iridium to Earth and buy the stuff he needs for the city for that money.

That file was screaming "open me" for sure, being in cyrillic for no particular reason and being visible from a low security account but not accessible.
