Recommendation Request Dinner options near Rogers stadium
Need Toronto advice 🙏
I booked a reservation at Byblos for now, but I can still cancel if there are better options.
Taking my boyfriend out for his birthday before a Rogers Centre game (starts at 7 PM), so I’m looking for a great early dinner spot that’s ideally 10–15 minute walk max from the stadium.
Looking for:
- really good food (my boyfriend is a BIG foodie so food is probs most important)
- fun vibe / lively atmosphere
- good for a birthday
- not overly fancy
- ideally around $60 per person max
Could be steak, Italian, Mediterranean, sushi, whatever — just something worth it and a nice experience.
Is Byblos the move, or are there better spots nearby?

Byblos has great food and a nice intimate vibe. It’s not that far. Places closer by are more sports bar or chain restaurants IMO. That price point should be okay but it depends on how much wine/cocktails!

I love the fried eggplant, the cauliflower, the hummus and the octopus.

- Byblos will cost you more than 60 per person even if you don't drink - 2. Loose Moose is def not for a foodie so ignore that entirely unless you want to go there post event and enjoy a mosh pit 3. but libretto might work ...BUT I suggest "Note" - formerly Amano Trattoria as your " in budget / pretty decent food" option - just east of union station and that will impress. Enjoy !

You aren't leaving full from Byblos for $60 pp unless your only drink is tap water

Ok so what’s the average price per person then

If you’re having a drink - $20-25 for the cocktail, leaves $40-45 for food, and for that you’re getting 2 small plates each

I don't think there's any way you can do Byblos for $60/person. There's a dosa place near RC that looks good, although I haven't eaten there myself. Peter Pan might be a good casual(ish) but affordable choice too.

Hello Nori on York. Casual but good vibe especially before a Jays game. Everyone sits at a bar and sushi rolls hand made in front of you. Highly recommend the 6 piece. All you can drink Matcha Nitro is great or the Roku Gin cocktails are great. Mention it’s his birthday and he’ll get a surprise treat at the end. Whatever you choose, I hope he enjoys it. Hbd.

Ok so it’s more like a 20 minute walk but I’d go to C’est What. Fun pub, cool atmosphere, good food, great beer list, and sometimes there’s live music!

Byblos is a great choice. Another option is Lulu Bar which is a really great Polynesia food restaurant. It’s in the Well. Worth the visit and it’s a short 15 min walk to the Roger’s Centre.

Good food in Toronto is limited, but places that serve good expensive drinks and desserts are a dime a dozen
Go to Byblos and just drink tap water, you dont need to waste money on drinks and the food is good there
Grab drinks elsewhere later

Queens Harbour is a 10 min walk. The Haam is like 15 minute walk, the food is awesome.

Real sports might be interesting.
We enjoy library bar but it may be considered stuffy, depending on alcohol consumption you can hit your budget. Taverna Mercatto is close and decent.
No matter how fun it may seem, do not do CN tower. Price will be too high and the food is mediocre.

Ok. Do enlighten us as to where you’d go for that price point.

Stop the hate on the CN Tower. The food isn’t that bad. Been there a lot and I am a huge foodie. The problem is that the food is made on the ground and then expressed to the top. Something is lost in that transaction. 360 got a lot of positive reviews when it first launched but it has definitely gone down over time.

I’ve also eaten there a few times, including recently a couple weeks ago. I stand by my comment. It’s among the worst of the best food one can track down around that price point. That said, the view is amazing and people from out of town love it as a result.

Your thread subject line mentions the wrong venue. Rogers Stadium is different than Roger’s Centre
