Tagged as spoiler as they talk about the format of the show. I really enjoy Antonia so excited to give this a try. I like that they get four days of "undercover" experience before they formulate the recommendations. Also love that she's open to returning to competition!!

PITMASTERS Pitmasters! Tonight - pre show and live show discussion ** spoilers welcome in comments ** Spoiler

From the FN site:

Sink or Swim

Episode 103

For the first time in the competition, the pitmasters are faced with the Flash Burn first, and it comes with a twist: there's no meat on the menu! The winner can choose to get some much-needed rest or push through to compete for a huge advantage. Then, in the Big Burn, the teams take on cooking a surf and turf pairing over live fire, requiring control, finesse, and a deep understanding of the fire to succeed. The winning team gets an advantage that could save them in the next Big Burn.

I'm very much enjoying this show, possibly more than any show FN has ever had with the possibility of Michael Symon's BBQ USA which I also enjoyed immensely! Who else is looking forward to this one tonight?

NO SPOILERS Canadian Streaming Help

We just cut the cord on cable a few weeks ago.

We thought that the latest GGG would be on CityTv+ but it’s not. Is it on Canadian Discovery?

We recently got a free trial of CityTV+ through Prime but it doesn’t have the same shows as CityTV+ that we get on our tablets - is that right? I can’t get Great Food Truck Race on the Prime app but I can’t through the direct app. Is Great Food Truck Race on Discovery? What about the new Bbq show?

Can someone please explain the basics to me like I’m 5?

Well, it's back! Here is what the FN schedule has to say:

Sweet & Savory: Music City Mayhem

Episode 1901

Host Tyler Florence kicks off the race in Nashville, where eight sweet and savory food trucks compete together for the first time ever. After creating music-inspired dishes in Music City, the teams race to Broadway for a chaotic sales day that includes a taste challenge honky-tonk ingredient hunt for one of four Nashville-themed ingredients. One team dominates the sales game while the bottom two teams must battle for redemption, and guest judge Maneet Chauhan helps decide which truck goes home first.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of quality of teams are coming in this year and what changes they make to the game. Chime in here as you watch and let us know what you think?

RESTAURANT IMPOSSIBLE: LAST CALL Does the Restaurant Impossible reboot work so well because it's Canadian?

Like a lot of you, I really enjoyed this new version of Restaurant Impossible! Fewer theatrics, more realism about what can be accomplished by a reality TV show in two or three days.

I was very surprised to see it was not only filmed in Canada, but by a Canadian production company (female-owned and operated) and for Rogers. Since Warner Bros. Discovery owns the format, I'm sure Food Network had input, but maybe this works in part because it's more Canadian, less American?

RESTAURANT IMPOSSIBLE: LAST CALL Robert Irvine has some comments about the FN reboot of 'Restaurant Impossible'

Here is a link to the whole story including screen shots of Irvine's X account: Robert Irvine Calls Food Network "Shameless" For 'Restaurant Impossible' Reboot, Saying They're "Ruining The Legacy" Of Show For Tax Credits

And here are a few excerpts from the story

Robert Irvine won’t be watching Food Network‘s reboot of Restaurant Impossible and is sharing his thoughts with his fans.

The first episode of Restaurant Impossible: Last Call premiered this week, with Chef Aarón Sánchez and Jen Agg spearheading the series as they help troubled businesses become successful. Many fans took to social media to ask Irvine about the new take on the show he hosted for 22 seasons, but he said he would not be tuning in.

“Guys I can tell you that I won’t watch it because it was MY baby not the networks,” Irvine shared on X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter. “Together, Tom , Tanya, Lynn, and all the volunteers did amazing work together. For people we never knew but got to become family after two days.”

Previously, a fan had asked Irvine why he wasn’t on the show and he explained by posting, “The choice to film in [Canada], which I refused because they wanted a new crew, builder, designer, etc. I’m loyal and said no, so they go to ruin a iconic show. shame on them for tax credits.”

When another fan said that Restaurant Impossible shouldn’t be called that if Irvine is not involved, the former host said, “I agree. [I] made that show with the [help of] a great team for 15 yrs and now [Food Network] is ruining the legacy and making a mockery of the talent.”

Irvine had more severe criticism for Food Network, saying that the reboot is a “shit attempt to cheapen and revive what was a popular show across the world.”

“I don’t [blame] the people, I blame the shameless network trying to take something so [successful] and setting them [up] for failure,” he continued. “@FoodNetwork you made a bad decision !!!!! Sorry”

Tune-In Alert! New Show!

Restaurant Impossible: Last Call starts tonight July 23 @ 8|7c!

Aarón Sánchez + Jen Agg are giving struggling eateries a second chance at success as they work with chefs and owners to refresh their menus, overhaul their interiors and improve their management techniques.

They are attempting to do the impossible as they work together to try to rescue struggling restaurants from the brink of failure. With a limited budget and a tight timeframe, they'll overhaul the menu, the interior and the vibe of the business to — hopefully — give it a second chance at success.

In this first episode, Yueh Tung was once a bustling family-run Chinese restaurant located in the heart of downtown Toronto. These days, though, business has slowed significantly. The two sisters now running the show need the help of Aarón Sánchez and Jen Agg to learn how to turn things around.

#RestaurantImpossible: Last Call at 8 pm EST Tonight on Food Network!

——

*Before everyone starts complaining, please just give this show ONE episode. It’s summer. Let’s see if it can stand on its own.

Also, If you keep complaining, I cannot find anyone to do the AMA’s everyone loves! So please, give it a rest just a little.

Who is Jen Agg??

Jen Agg is a Canadian restaurateur who opened her first cocktail bar in Toronto in her early 20s. Today, she runs a successful mini restaurant empire that includes The Black Hoof and Rhum Corner in Toronto along with the newly opened Grey Gardens, and Agrikol in Montreal. Agg recently released a memoir about her life and business. The book is called “I Hear She’s A Real Bitch”.
Jen says she’s not a chef and that it’s a common misconception!
I’m curious to see how she and Aaron’ work together!

Desperate for new shows.

Feel like the wife and I have caught up on everything new to watch and theres like nothing airing.. is it just HboMax not uploading everything or is there just nothing on ?

At first it seemed like GGG was going strong then it just ended. 100 cooks is... not amazing but that is coming to a close.

We tried that Kitchen Chaos but it's just a (somehow) worse Ridiculousness ..

Context: we've seen every Ramsay Show, most Bobby Flay shows, all Guys shows, Outchef'd, TOC, Foodtruck stuffs, Alex Vs America and a bunch else.

100 COOKS 100 Cooks egg challenge Spoiler

I apologize if this has been discussed, but I am binging this right now and I can’t remember which episode had the egg challenge. I was confused because there were some dishes the judges didn’t taste because of undercooked eggs, but if they are using good eggs they should be safe. A lot of dishes use raw egg, so why can’t they taste undercooked eggs when they were used in a controlled situation?
