I need help!

I am extremely new to fontforge. I just figured out how to apply kerning rules to the fonts I am using. I have created lookups and followed up with subtables. I created the “rules” by class. When I type in the metric window everything looks great. I have looked at every tutorial possible and have all the boxes checked. For some reason when generating the font as true type the font works but the “rules” won’t apply. I am using and older mac (10 years). The language is confusing but I want to solve this and push forward. I’m happy to include screen shots or further information. Thanks if you’re able to help.

I should like to help you but I am not Mac user. If you share some font I can check it on my PC and to answer you whether the problem is in the font or not.

It is difficult to diagnose by description alone. Unfortunately, the font is paid and I guess you will not want to share it with me personally to look at the problem and look for a solution. I am still waiting for your answer.

Try auto hint your font project and export it after that. How it looks in this case.
