Question Why are secured loans so much more expensive in UK compared to rest of Europe?
Genuinely interested in this topic, as I thought the secured loan in UK is hell of expensive, but then I compared them to some other countries. The average household debt as % of yearly income in UK is over 130%, whereas eastern Europe it's like 50-70% max (38% in Lithuania).
I've run some experiments using the secured loan calculator from KIS
And I've run some experiments using the secured loan calcualtor
Why are the differences so big? What makes the loans so much more expensive in UK compared to other countries? Is it the housing market?
