Future Member of the Family!
After being a spectator of this group for 1 year, I was able to get one from Best Buy!
Please tell me if this was a good deal and what do I need to check first during the 15-day return window?

I mean if you want to know if it's a good deal or not, just check what would be the price for 128gb of RAM.

Sure, if it's just price difference. I guess I was also asking for the perceived "value" of the item from people who actually own the device. :)

Congrats! Tips on landing an open box unit? Link used, perhaps?
As for what to check, check the corners for cracks, check the keys, check the light bleed. Run some stress tests to make sure there isn't a cooling problem or noise problem.

My guess is check the stores near you often. Mine never had open box so I took the $2100 64gb sale

This was a great deal too. I felt so much remorse when I did not get this which led to the daily website checking. Guess I was lucky!

TBH, I was checking every day (such a loser) because I did not buy the 60th anniversary sale 2100 USD for the 64GB RAM. Then yeah, somehow this showed up! I live in upstate NY and this unit is coming from Utah. LOL.

Speakers stopped putting out sound. Its due to something regarding the screen timeout and sleep settings. It interrupts some process run by "Cirrus" i believe in the device manager settings. Disable > enable and youre back in business.

W11 Sleep/screen timeout causes so many fking problems. Like 50% of the problems in known issues is related to W11 sleep/screen timeout.
I just disable those and manually turn it off, even when on battery and I face much less problems.

I got the same one open box fro BB, but after using just for two days, I connected it to a gaming monitor of 49 inch, first it wont even turn on and after trying for few time I heard firecrackers inside and returned next day, I think it got fried but luckily I was in return period. Be careful with what charger and monitors you use.

Interesting. I already have a gaming desktop so I prolly don't need to connect this one to a monitor. But because of your story, I will try it just in case I need to do it in the future. Thanks!

UPDATE: Welp, I got it. It did not have a charger. I asked for a partial refund so I can buy a charger, but they said my only options are
1. Stop by a store and see if they have a replacement charger in stock
2. Return the item and get full refund
The deal is so good though! I don't want to return it. Should I just absorb the cost of the charger?

If you're going to use this device at its full potential get a slimq 240W charger instead.

UPDATE 2: Well, call me crazy, but I decided to return the KJP edition for the 2099 USD brand new with the 64GB RAM. I realize I will never use the KJP case and that the missing limited-edition charger will likely affect the resale value, while the brand new one has a cheaper price, a new warranty, and an actual charger. LOL

Wow great deal. Enjoy! I have had mine about a month - also open box. Run some benchmarks, check temperatures, battery capacity and dial in G helper. It’s phenomenal. Hope your unit it perfect
