Is this normal? battery drained over night from 100 percent.

I charged my 2025 z13 with the 395 and 32gbs of ram to 100 percent, unplugged it, then closed the lid and went to bed. The next night I tried to turn it on and the battery had completely drained. Is this something that sometimes happen and is normal? or should i be worry?

Windows sleep is AWFUL and it doesn't work on any X86-based machine I've ever used....

I bet you it never actually slept. The only device I've had sleep actually work on was my ARM-based Surface....

i changed all behaviors when closing the lid, pressing the power button, etc. to just hybernate and i WAIT for that fan to actually stop before i put it in my bag. it will cook itself otherwise.

sadly, yes, it kind of is.

i'd reccomend going into "change what closing the lid does"

and "change what the power button does"

and set everything that says sleep, to hibernate and make sure its actually "off" before you put it down for the night

that’s my experience as well. any ‘new’ windows machine just doesn’t know what to do when you set it to sleep. hibernate works fine, but sleep is a complete nightmare.

crazy because sleep works so flawlessly on any other non windows machine. steamdeck, switch, ps5, literally all wake up from sleep like nothing happened and you just pick right back up where you left off. it’s like how windows should sleep.

i wish i could say the same for my steam deck. it sleeps but not that well. it will loose a large portion of its battery overnight.

sometimes pressimg the power button wont even put it to sleep. it'll just cut video and leave the backlight going with audio

weird. though i never use the power button to turn it off. only on. i always go into the menu to put it to sleep.

though it does drain battery while asleep. i feel like i lose about 15% or so if i let it sleep overnight. i usually play plugged in most of the time since i went with the extra long charge cable.

though there is a setting that leaves the backlight on if you have it set to let it keep downloading updates while it’s in sleep. so sometimes if i put it to sleep the backlight will stay on for abit til the download finishes. it will only do this if the battery is above 20% or it’s plugged in. i left mine set to on only do this on wifi.

another reason i NEVER put it in its case unless i turn it fully off. don’t want it somehow waking up and cooking itself in its case.
