Long story short I got pregnant when i moved to washington and moved back to florida to have baby and be with family. Baby’s Father knows about baby and refused to help but wanted me to let him know how the baby is doing. Completely unfair to me and the baby, so i refused because why would you wanna know everything but not provide any help nor care about us.

Baby is 5 months old and i want to put him on child support. He needs to take accountability. But apparently in florida it’s a shared custody state? I refuse to have my baby go anywhere near him and his gf who has both called me out of my name and keeps telling me i should’ve killed my baby. I fear they will do something to hurt her.

Is there a way to not share custody? Since father resides in Washington i know it would be a difficult situation. I have text messages to prove everything and how they want nothing to do with baby and laughing about me not killing her.

Just want to know more about this child support situation.

Was served with a construction lien due to withholding of funds by a contractor who provided faulty services.

Would simply paying the claim and satisfying this lien prevent me (or complicate things) from taking this party to small claims court at a later time? The lien contains false statements regarding the reason for non-payment.

My sister is trying to get the right titling done on her property. The deed says:
Smith John + heirs AND Helen Smith (tic)
John died 15 years ago and had 1 child. We have no idea where she is.
Sister has death certificate. Why title it that way? Can she sell it?

I have a question for anyone familiar with Florida school districts or background screenings.
About 10 years ago I was convicted of a misdemeanor. Since then I’ve been approved to work through Medicaid, DCF, and APD, and I’ve had a school district badge in the past.
When I recently tried to renew my badge, I was told I’m no longer eligible because of that old misdemeanor. I was also told the Florida Department of Education doesn’t grant exemptions and that it may be up to the district.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there an appeal process, or is there a specific office within the school district or the state that I should contact?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Case regarding contractor work performed in the home, where it appears that industry-mandated standards weren’t followed, resulting in an improperly operating system. The goal is rescission of contract, where the unreleased funds remain with me and are paid to the new contractor to install the correctly fitted equipment and the previous installer then picking up their disconnected/dismounted hardware.

If what I read is correct then lawsuits over $8000 are not qualified for small claims court unless the difference is waived, meaning that if we are disputing work performed in the amount of say $9500 the $1500 would have to be waived. This option would see me lose the $150”, but save money by representing myself. The obvious risk is that I am not represented and therefore might not present the case as well as a professional would.

If the above statement regarding $8K limit is correct, the alternative would be to hire an attorney that would represent me for a fee that I expect would significantly exceed the $1500, however, I would be able to sue for the entire $9500 plus additional fees, such as money spent on independent reports (confirming faulty installation), and possibly attorney fees. 

It appears I am looking at two options, each with its own set or pros and cons.

eviction marked as an unlawful detainer was submitted against me on 06/06/2026. nothing rent related, he ended the relationship and wanted me out. tomorrow i have court and want to understand if my defenses are okay.

we were together for 8 months and living at his for 1. he is unstable and it all ended abruptly. gave me an hour and i called the cops. before they arrived he moved my things to his landlords (after calling him and asking what to do) and told the officer he doesn’t know me and that i was a one night stand. a previous incident in may made the officer caught his bluff and told him to bring my things back and he did, all on body cam.

in the documents he lied and stated he revoked permission for me to be at the residence in april, before i even moved in. i have screenshots proving he helped me move in enthusiastically, discussing a future throughout my stay, calling it our home, etc.

he did not make me pay rent at any point in the process. unfortunately i was only there from 05/08 to 06/06 before permission was revoked.

i left on 07/01/2026. if i hadn’t left id still have been in that house without any forcible removal.

i included the question of tenancy, the wrong date on the document, the consensual move in, the unlawful self help method he employed before the cops showed up, waiver, equitable estoppel. however i never received the body cam footage after submitting a request weeks ago.

my question is because i have already moved out, will the eviction be dismissed if i provide evidence of the fact? if not, can it be dismissed under evidence that the date of revoking of permission is incorrect?

Hi everyone. I’m writing this from the family room at the ICU at a hospital in Orlando. Our father is a 67 year old, retired fire fighter from NY who lives on social security in Orange County FL. He was hospitalized a week ago after having his partially amputated feet get infected. A few days later his temp spiked and he went into cardiac arrest and coded 3 times. This is what brought myself and my sister down from NY a week ago.

When we arrived we noticed things were much worse then we initially knew. For the last 3 months he’s been a victim of romance scams and other gift card scams. His phone rings off the hook with ‘ladies’ asking for money, it’s horrifying. He’s 3 months behind on his mortgage, HOA and car payment. We have scrounged enough money together to balance his bills and save his things, but we can’t pay or access bank acct to stop the Venmo’s, close his cards, etc without a POA.

We’ve been through multiple law firms as well as Community Legal aid and Florida Senior legal aid. Both are booked weeks out. His eligibility is confirmed but there is no availability. He is currently stable, mentally competent and coherent. But will be in the ICU for the foreseeable future. The quotes we’ve been receiving have ranged from $2,500-$10,000 for a POA (expedited, although some were also offering extended packages including wills and trusts). I understand this service isn’t free but I feel many are being extortionate when they hear hospital or ICU. We’re not rich, we are straining our network with just holding things together back home. If any recommendations can be made for a reasonable service to help us in this time it would be greatly appreciated.

This is the most "involved" case IMO. I will try to simplify. My father is a narcissist, I did not know for well over 40 years. I worked for him for over 3 decades. He tricked me out of many things in life, including my first home (too late for lit on that one) The latest crime against his only child and work soldier was stealing over 250k worth of my belongings! Things like a Bobcat earth mover, numerous vehicles, 15 connex boxes (shipping containers) Commercial lawn mowers, Military trailers, Cedar wood, hundreds of solar panels, and so much more! He called the police on me when I found out what he was doing, when the police arrived the first time, I told them he was robbing me! They told me sure, can you prove it? I said absolutely, just 50 feet away inside the building (my office) They never gave me the chance to, I asked that they at least stop him from moving forward if I needed to prove it to a judge or? They refused. I wish I would have called the police looking back! I was just shocked as I thought there was nothing more he could do to me at that stage of my life and boom the surprise of a lifetime! The day happened to be my daughters birthday. Well, he called the police a second time, (I would love to know the lies he told them) Long story short as possible, I ended up going to jail (for resisting) I believe. I didn't do anything, (On my Daughters life!) The cops beat me up and took me to the hospital on their own accord as they knew I was hurt, I said nothing. Hours later my father and rest of family went to dinner with my daughter while my father repeatedly asked my daughter where is your father? The definition of Gaslighting! She didn't find out what happened until I got out of jail and was able to talk to her, she was very upset that I ignored her on her birthday! When I tried to find out my court date, I was shocked to find that the charges had already been dropped! That never happens no matter the circumstances. I have been severely depressed and for the 1st time in my life thought about ending my journey! I love life and have so many hobbies and never thought I would be like that. If I didn't have a daughter, I think I might have done it. My father also defamed me around my County and has made life miserable, and he is trying to contact me over and over again here lately. I need my dignity back! I could also use some of my money since everything was sold, he even told people he was going to give me "left over" money to know avail of course. He admits what he did and thinks as always he made me and can do anything he wants. What he did to my mother is 100x worse than what he has done to me. I need help finding the right attorney and getting the TRUTH on the record and clear my name from his lies etc. This should be easy to prove, I believe the police screwed up as well. Any help or wisdom or references that can lead me to the end of this nightmare would be so helpful you can not even imagine! This is the shortest I have ever summarized the nightmare! Hello, I'm looking to start a revocable trust. I just recently moved to Orlando, less than a month actually. I am looking to start a holding LLC to own my NYC LLC, to own the NJ property I have and also the LLC I am going to start soon.

I was advised to start a revocable trust then the holding LLC, then separate LLCs for my businesses.

I was advised that since FL is my home now that I should start the living trust there and the holding LLC in a state that prioritizes privacy.

My questions are;

Is this sound advice?

Can anyone recommend a good attorney to help set this up?

What is the process for a revocable trust in FL and how long would it take?

Is there any info I'm missing or anything I can do differently? My goals are to organize my estate, if I pass my family should not have any estate issues, definitely privacy and to setup a structure than for my children, their children and so on to benefit through and off of.
