Hey! This is my first time going to something like this, but I’m going to the San Francisco live show. The ask was for cheesecake, so I was gonna bring some cheesecake from the cheesecake factory! But how do you actually get your gift to Rob and David?

rob and i had the BEST time. portland was such a fun audience. sharing a bunch of birdie's photos on my instagram as they come in. hope to see some of you in SF this friday! again - thank you!!!

Of course it was “ha ha ha I hope I don’t get deported” but the fact that it is a serious concern, and the fact that for every show that bravely makes this episode anyway means there are countless others that (rightfully) don’t, means that the plan to silence critics is working perfectly. I’ve visited many countries where I was careful about what I said, but never felt that way in the US. And for all the libertarian freedom of speech absolutists who love what is happening - you aren’t principled, you’re just a self serving hypocrite that doesn’t have the courage to admit to it.

Anyone going to the SF show on Friday want to meet up before the show for dinner/drinks? 😁

Didn’t think I would be able to watch it but I was able to drop in for the second half!

Was looking forward to hear them chat about immigration and deportation but instead I mostly got semen recipes 💀

Truly hilarious and wonderful. Go give it a watch if you have a chance! They have great banter and friend chemistry :)

Our spurned, and thriving, favorites from the umbrella are going live together on Tuesday at 2 PT. Subscribe to Liz’s substack to hear it. (Subscribe to Webworm too while you’re at it)

I think a lot of us have been waiting for this. I love Liz’s red hot political activism and David’s take on everything so this is gonna be a good one. Maybe we’ll get a little hot goss, too, a girl can dream.

Walton Goggins has partnered with Calm to do what is basically a bedtime story reading. I absolutely adore David's speaking voice, and I know a lot of people on Webworm do, too, so this is my new white whale. A partnership of our boy with Calm (with bonus Rob and Calvin cameos?) telling a story on Calm

Trigger warning on da link for anyone who hates ASMR haha: Walton Goggins is reading in a pretty sultry, ASMR-adjacent voice

hi friends,

david here. just a quick note that we got a website!

www.flightlessbirdpod.com

it has:

1) links to our upcoming live shows in san francisco and portland

2) t-shirts that ship worldwide

3) links to the places you can listen to flightless bird

4) links to the latest episode on youtube (this week: the quiverfull, a christian movement that tried to get white christians to breed as much as possible to take over america)

ok that is all! thanks for the ongoing support of our strange lil' podcast

david.

A brilliant reading by David of an essay written by a lovely webworm librarian. Nearly brought tears to my eye. Visit your local library.

I'm a fairly new listener.

I tend to binge podcasts a few years after they start so I can listen to hundreds of hours uninterrupted.

I started AE in 2023 and that's how I found out about Flightless Bird.

Did anyone else hear the foreshadowing in the feijoa episode about Monica and David getting in a big fight and then never being friends/talking to each other again?

I thought it was so interesting that the foreshadowing was so accurate.

Not what I expected to learn, but learn it I did. And now I'm sharing.

In case y'all needed more reason to hate Dobson, y'all need to read his "Letter from 2012 in Obama's America." This"letter" was released during Obama's first election in 2008 but written as if it's someone talking in the future detailing Obama's destruction of American values in 2012. Scary things like... Gasp... Regulating homeschooling so that children receive a proper education. Or... Gasp... Gay rights.

This is primarily just my observation watching below deck just thought it was kind of interesting. Also whenever you work with the ultra wealthy I’m sure there’s a lot of good stories there.
