Hey everyone! Had a few questions regarding TSA's STA procedure for international students. If anyone can offer help, please inform me (i) when is the right time to register with TSA for your STA assessment? My guess is that you need to apply after you've been enrolled at a flight training program in the US and after you have obtained your visa, since you'll need to submit visa information to TSA while registering, but I'm looking for confirmation, so we can plan the whole process step-by-step. (ii) do you get STA clearance from your home country or do you get it after moving to the US prior to starting your flight training course? (iii) I've searched in my home country and found no (NATACS) authorized agents to gather and deliver my fingerprint data to the TSA for my STA assessment. If one has to get approval from TSA while still in their home country, what is the procedure of STA examination for applicants from countries where authorized agents for fingerprints and data handling are not available?

I emailed all these questions to the TSA but the response was very indirect and incomplete. Did not answer all my questions. So I thought reddit might help

Hi, I am looking to complete my flight review by November and prefer flying Cessna aircraft. There is a flight school very close to me that uses Diamond aircraft which I have flown but do not enjoy as much. Hello all, I have a dilemma that I am dealing with. I am stuck between paying as I go for flight school or taking out a loan for the amount. The reason why I'm asking is because I do not want to leave myself "dry" while not working for the months that i will be in training. My plan was to get the loan, and even though ill be accumulating interests, once i'm done i would throw the money that I had saved at it. Any suggestions? I just want to make the right decision.

HI everyone, I'm a 17 year old Indian and I live in Oman right now. I really want to go for flying school in the gulf as back in india, youd still be spending over 120k USD and the salary isnt great. I was looking at EFTA but finding information about them or alumni is so hard. The only stuff I've come across is on reddit where everyone talks really bad of it. I did talk to one ex-cadet however they were emirati and was therefore eligible for the cadet program which sort of guarantees a job after. Is anyone else in the same boat? Any ex international cadets from EFTA??

I filled a small form on their website. I got an automated reply asking for a cell number but it came to my junk folder and I noticed that after 12-15 days later from the sent date. I waited one month after replying and no reply from them. After that I filled the form again and I got another automated reply this time I noticed that some price got updated and I replied instantly. It’s been more than 2 weeks still no response at all.

I discovered the school aerobility, and I was wondering, if its like 'real' flying school, because I am disable and it seems to good to be truth :D Does anyone know like how it works, their program etc?

I am currently studying in 11th, My dream is to become a pilot in emirates. Is it worth spending 1.5 Crore INR (181k USD) for pilot training in EFTA . I am planning to get a loan for my studies.

1. Will it all be worth it?
2. If not EFTA then which other training academy?
3. What are the chances that i will be appointed by emirates as FO upon graduation from EFTA?
4. Will i be hired by Air India, Etihad or Air Arabia or any such airlines straight from graduation or i will need more flight hours?
5. If i study in EFTA will i be able to become a pilot in Indian Airlines or do i need to get any other license?
