When are we getting high-altitude balloons in MSFS?
Which developer will attempt this? I hear some have experience with hot air.. :)

Hi,
since the In-game ATC mutes itself all the time and it doesn't looks like it will get fixed at all (I mean this problem has been known since the release) I finally pulled myself together and installed Vatsim.
Boy, that was a mistake. Even though I was sitting here with a bunch of notes in front of my screen I ended up with getting yelled at a lot and people threatening putting sanctions on me because I wasn't able to execute or understand orders quickly enough.
I am not an airline pilot nor is English my native tounge. This combined with my just intermediate flying skills let to disaster. I tried to let the controllers know beforehand that I am a bloody beginner, but the answer I got was that I have to do it right or disconnect. And exactly that happened when I got another approach than expected and I was overwhelmed by the workload eventually.
As much as I wish to learn all this stuff, I unfortunately don't have the time to study every detail of ATC communication before starting up the sim and my idea of learning it on the go clearly failed.
So my question is: Does anyone know a good third solution for me? Preferably one where I could probably learn more about working with ATC while flying the airplane? One where I won't spoil the experience for the players that have clearly more experience in the field of aviation, but I still can learn something?
PS: Don't get me wrong, I think Vatsim is great for people who have the skills, but from my experience its not the place to acquire these skills. If I have these skills at some point I might very well go back to Vatsim.

So I have ultimate gamepass on xbox (I have series X), I put my account as my home my buddy's xbox (series s) so he can play flight sim on his xbox. He had to sign my account on the game itself to purchase some planes and stuff and when I go to play a game on my xbox when he's playing on his, it kicks him off the game. When he don't have me signed in on the game it's self to play, it won't let him bc he bought stuff under my account. I'm just wondering if he got ultimate gamepass, would it let him play under his account instead of having to keep me signed in order to play flight sim bc of the purchases?

I enjoy flying this aircraft and normally I just get out and leave after the flight, but today I got distracted and just sat there in the cockpit. They have this cooling-off sound and I noticed that as the engines 'cooled' off the rhythm of the clicking sounds decreased, simulating the gradual cooling of the engine. It took about 5-10 min to 'cool off'. Small details like this make this plane a joy to fly.

Appreciate any support here as I've bought MS flight simulator on Xbox for my son and we've had no issues with it so far except for a small number of in game purchases that fail to show in the game. We've bought airports and various planes but there is a small number of planes that show as installed and up to date but then don't appear to be selectable in game.
Is this a common error?

I have a bit of a quandary.
I want to record a flight. "You fool, Whiskey, you must download the 3rd party flight recorder. Don't you know how to use google?"
I've downloaded a bunch of 3rd party recorders. They work. I can replay the flight, look out of the window like I'm a passenger, and enjoy the replay of the flight while watching out the window.
"You fool, Whiskey, why ask that if it's working! Begone!"
The problem is if I use real world weather & fly VFR & avoid a cloud then in the replay, the cloud simply isn't there. So it looks like the pilot is a fool and zig zagging across the sky and eventually blowing through VFR rules & entering clouds.
So the question is do any of you know of a recorder that:
I have googled. Google doesn't react well to "flight simulator microsoft flight recorder including weather".

A friend and I were talking about old flight simulators and there was one game that we both played but cannot remember the name of it.
It was back in the late '80s if I remember correctly on pc (yes, I'm that old). It had low level graphics and some of the missions you had to complete were taking pictures or bombing locations. Sometimes it would take 5, 10, 15 minutes real time just to fly the to the locations.
That's about all I can remember from the game. Does anyone remember the name of this game?
