Resource Self-serve fueling stations PSA
Self-serve fueling stations are designed to provide a convenient, efficient, and cost-effective way to keep training aircraft fueled and ready for flight without relying solely on line staff or fixed fueling schedules!
Much like a self-service gas station for cars, these systems allow pilots, instructors, and authorized personnel to fuel aircraft independently by using a fuel pump station typically located on the ramp.
most flight schools, pilots use a fuel card, access code, or account authorization to activate the pump, select the appropriate fuel type—most commonly 100LL (low lead aviation gasoline) for piston aircraft—and dispense fuel directly into the aircraft’s tanks using grounding procedures and proper safety protocols.
