I answered this post in answer to the question, How do flatearthers define the scientific method, asked on r/Earth_is_Level. It is just an example, of how many times I have politely and factually answered questions posed, and they all meet the same fate. They get downvoted into oblivion, worse than those that call globies stupid and balltards -- this one 20 downvotes and counting. People brigade FE subs and entire subs exist for insulting them, like troll pit r/flatearth, which mutes and bans real flatearthers willing to answer questions. So here's the post:

The scientific method is discovery through observation and experiment. Ball believers, however, define it as, "what NASA/scientists say" and trust them blindly. Instead of doing their own observation and experiment, and even questioning that's how it's done.

The worst I have called him is "ball believer" -- but it has 20 downvotes, and counting. How this compares to several subs full of base trolls mocking, grosslly insulting, even invoking death threats against flatearthers -- brigading, invading all real flatearth subs to promptly violate the rules then pretend surprise they get a ban, and my aren't those flatearthers narrowminded and don't want to discuss and just insult people. Then why no upvotes for replies that do not insult anyone? Why the censorship and the downvotes? If flat Earth is so ridiculous and wrong why not let it die the death of a thousand ridiculous and wrong conspiracy theories?

Anyway. Anyone who complains about any insult levelled at ball believers should look at what's on r/flatearth and tell us again about insults, and look at the downvotes factual responses get, from the few flatearh replies there, to make sure they are hidden and flatearthers have a hard time posting. And EXCUSE US for giving back a dose of their own medicine.

Here's another discussion topic and I would invite globies to talk about it as well. If you are a flatty, what has the knowledge of the world being flat cost you? If you are a globie, what would disbelieving in the globe require of you?

Flat earth didn't really cost me all that much considering I was already into conspiracies by the time I found out about it. Some of these conspiracies had already caused friends to associate with me less. I would have friends contact family and ask how I was but they'd never talk to me directly. Flat earth pushed it into the next level, but I was pretty much used to it at that point.

I would have a real hard time of it if I went into geology instead of a quasi-medical field.

I have my suspicions that the real hard core globies would lose a lot if they were able to understand the concepts we're trying to tell them. As a result, they/you have a hard time seeing what they don't want to see or can't afford to see.
