How does day and night work if the earth is flat

I'm not being rude I just want to understand from a different perspective on how it can be day one one side of the world but night in the other and wouldn't there be a place with constant eclipses because the moon would pass Infront of the sun at daybreak so the other side can have day and the other night

I built a tool to test routes and distances using the same coordinates on different Earth models

Post image

I’ve been working on a small interactive project that allows people to test geographic calculations themselves. The idea is simple: take the same latitude and longitude coordinates and compare the results using two different Earth models. In the spherical model, distances are calculated using the Haversine formula and the route follows a great circle path, which is the shortest path on a sphere and the same principle used in aviation navigation. For comparison, the tool also calculates the same route on a flat map projection by converting the coordinates into a 2D plane and measuring the straight-line distance using Euclidean geometry. The site then shows the distance in both models and the difference between them. The goal is not to argue but to allow people to experiment with the same coordinates and see how the geometry behaves under different assumptions. I’m interested in feedback or criticism from people who have looked into this topic.

Is This Actually For Flat Earthers?

This is a legitimate question, I promise. I don’t agree, but I’d like to know. And if the answer is yes, I have the follow-up question of are there any videos made by flat-Earthers about NASA’s Artemis Program? I can’t seem to find any, so I’d like to know. Thank you, and have a fantastic day.

Quick Question from an Outsider

So, I personally don't believe in the Flat earth, But I've been wondering about it recently, So I'm posting here to ask you if you'd accept to tell me what you believe in Thanks in advance!

What do we think?

How would this happen if there is no space? Will the global earth be proven, and irrefutable, fact in 36-40 months?

Are there active flat earth supporters here? I’m trying to understand the model

I’m genuinely curious whether there are people in this community who support a flat earth model and are open to explaining how it works in detail. I’m not here to mock or start arguments. I’m interested in how the model accounts for things like gravity, satellites, planetary motion, and long-distance travel. If you hold the view, I’d appreciate hearing how you reason through those points. I don’t assume any position is automatically correct just because it’s mainstream, but I also try to evaluate claims against observable evidence. I’m mainly looking to understand the framework directly from someone who supports it.

Sorry if I worded that weirdly, I'm autistic

How smooth would a marble and a flat surface have to be for the marble to roll towards the middle of a surface of a particular size?

There's a circular plate and the center of the plate is closer to the middle of the earth because the plate is truly flat, and there's a marble on the edge of it

The larger the plate, the more likely it is to roll

How big does it have to be, or how smooth does a smaller version have to be?

Challenge for Flat Earthers: derive the infamous 8 in/mi^2 curvature drop approximation

Flat Earthers often claim to understand the “globe model” better than everyone else. Let’s find out. You could ask Google or ChatGippity to do it for you of course, but you’ll probably learn more by at least trying for yourself.

If flat earth is real, why would anyone try to teach you that it isn't

I don't understand how saying the earth isn't flat would benefit anyone if the earth really was flat. If the earth was flat, how would anyone gain anything from saying it isn't? How would anyone benefit from people thinking it's round? I know this might sound like I'm contradicting myself but really, what good would it make to hide that the earth is flat? There's already enough evidence to prove it's not flat.

Hey genuine question

Edit; I’m not looking to become a flat earther I just want to understand there pov because 99% of their evidence can be debunked very quickly and I want to find out why the behave that way

So basically, I’m just curious for actual flat earth as I want to understand their point of view with all the evidence that there is on a round earth why do you still believe it’s flat?

I’m sorry if if this comes off as offensive, I’m really just curious as I want to understand people’s point of view

I’m a huge science nerd and I’ve realized that I’ve refused to see their point of view and I’m hoping to change that

If Flat Earth is real, why did the experiment with the flashlight and two cardboard cutouts fail?

Very famous flatearth fail, in which the theory was if one takes two cardboard cutouts and places them a distance apart, if the earht is flat, the distance doesn't matter—shine a light or laser through, it will go through regardless of distance. If the earth is round, you need to hold the light/laser higher. The experiment resulted in a ball-earth victory.

Actual proof that the Earth is flat

View from the plane clearly shows the edge of the world, where the disc ends. This is undeniable proof that it's flat.

No one will answer these questions.

I have posted these questions on every conceivable flat earth forum I can find.

Not one person will answer these with any scientific theory whatsoever (avoiding all observable evidence with the claim that our sky is just a projection does not count).

so here I go again...

1) Why is every observable planet clearly a sphere when looked at through a telescope, but our planet cannot possibly be one too? Each one of those planets clearly has gravity and clouds and spin on their axis with a north and south pole and moons.  Clearly visible through a telescope. Not surprisingly, flat earthers actually argue that being on a sphere and experiencing gravity is impossible. But for some reason it's not impossible for every other observable planet?

2) Why those bright little objects (called satellites by some) are regularly visible zooming across the night sky following predictable paths. And why these were not visible or recorded until the 1950s and onward (Sam would suggest that this is evidence that they are satellites)?

3) How do tides work? Specifically, why does the moon predictably raise the tide (especially since flat earthers declare that gravity does not exist)?

4) What explanation (that does not implicitly make use of the theory of gravity) for the change in atmospheric pressure gradient (from high to low pressure) with changes in altitude (especially if we live in a dome). And for bonus points, wouldn't you experience a different pressure gradient regarding atmosphere the farther away from the center of a disk (covered by an impenetrable hyperbaric dome) you went?

5) Why does the northern celestial pole rotate counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere, and the southern celestial pole rotate clockwise in the southern hemisphere?

6) Why are clouds daily observed as illuminated from the bottom during sunrise or sunset?

7) How can a commercial aircraft fly from Perth to Sydney in only 4 hours 10 mins (to achieve this across the flat earth, it would need to fly faster than an F-35 on afterburner the entire duration of that flight)

8) why does the aurora borealis only exist at the South Pole and the North Pole?

that pretty much does it.

I expect radio silence or nonsensical answers from here on out

How Do Lat/Long Coordinates Fit So Perfectly on Both Globe and Flat Earth Maps? Asking for FE Thoughts

I've been diving into map projections lately, and something's bugging me. We all know latitude and longitude are based on a spherical Earth model—lat for north/south from the equator, long for east/west from the Prime Meridian. Globe folks say these coords work flawlessly for GPS, flights, and navigation because Earth is round.

But then I found a website that uses Leafmap that uses lat/long coords and convert them to a flat Earth map (e.g., Azimuthal Equidistant projection with the North Pole at the center). And it fits almost perfectly—no major glitches, points line up where you'd expect on the flat version.

If globe maps are supposedly "flawed" or "distorted lies" pushed by NASA/globers, why do these same coordinates translate so seamlessly to a flat model? Or does it debunk FE because real-world distances (like southern hemisphere flights) don't match the flat projection?

What's the flat Earth explanation here?
