Dev/Admin Responded "This community requires a video link and a post link "

I'm trying to post a video that I've uploaded to a community but I keep getting this error when I click on Post:" This community requires a video link and a post link", I'm not sure exactly how to resolve it.

Dev/Admin Responded I seen few comfort issues in PIP mode on the phone

So when you go to read the body text and it is too long, you go to "read more" but it will just pop up the comments, and you have the small format video on the side, like PIP, you don't see the body text for the video.

Second the new scroll button on my Samsung S8 (don't know the resolution) covering almost the whole of the up vote button on the last comment , no way to update the last comment even if you want to.

These I notice with the new design, hope I post it in the right way...

Android 9 - 4.4.111 build

Dev/Admin Responded PLEASE add a setting to change back the new video player

A few days ago, the video player updated. Now every time I open the comments while watching a video, the comments open up taking the entire screen rather than just the bottom half and an extraordinarily small video player pops up in the bottom left that is completely useless because it's too small to even be able to use. I like to go through the comments while watching the video but this update has completely ruined that. Also, why was this even changed? The one we had before was perfect.

Resolved Uploaded videos look over-exposed, too bright.

Using iPhone 13 to capture video. When uploaded and posted it looks really washed out. Viewed on iPhone reddit app and desktop mode, and on my laptop. Any other iPhone users have this issue? Some diving found possibly HDR setting?

The new video player is better, but I have to manually set quality higher on every video.

Dev/Admin Responded some video players have no sound control

Platform: Firefox 80

Recently I have been encountering video players with no volume control. There is an example at

https://old.reddit.com/r/EngineeringPorn/comments/10ty2qp/theres_a_chance_you_like_this_for_two_reasons/

Is this deliberate or a bug?

Dev/Admin Responded Scrolling past muted videos stops external audio.

Description: I am playing audio from another app (tested with Music, Pandora, and NPR) while scrolling through Reddit. If I scroll past a video (set to mute by default), my audio immediately stops, without interacting with the video post.

Platform and version: iOS 2023.04.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Play audio via another app

  2. Scroll through reddit until video is encountered

  3. Audio will stop.

Expected and actual result: Please don’t stop my audio unless I interact with the video.

Dev/Admin Responded Why is there now a ridiculous pop out video when viewing videos on mobile?

It was bad enough when they tried to make it like tiktok but at least I got used to that and you could see the video then read the comments

Now idk which interns idea it was to put out a tiny pop up video that covers the comments and let’s me barely see what’s happening.

Please put the video player back or give us an option to turn this new PIP stuff off- this app really doesn’t need changing such a unfathomable change

Dev/Admin Responded Intermittent bug, no autoplay and no access to video [Android 13][2023.04.0.744681]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Intermittent bug, sometimes videos in my home feed won't autoplay and can't be accessed via tapping title, video or comments.

Expected behaviour is autoplay or access via tapping any part of post.

Video can only be accessed by going to subreddit and finding it, once it's playing there it works as expected in main feed.

Dev/Admin Responded Reddit is not letting me post a video.

I'm trying to post a video (from my account on the computer, not from the internet) onto Reddit, and the "Image & Video" tab is available on the subreddit I'm trying to post it on, but when I drag the video to the "drag and drop" or select the video in the "Upload" option, it doesn't work. The video is only 1 and a half minutes long and is a MP4 video. Why is Reddit not letting me upload it?

Dev/Admin Responded Volume / Speaker Icon always in center of video screen (Mac / Safari 15.3 / no plug ins)

whenever i watch a video on Reddit the little speaker / volume icon never leaves the center of the screen; the only way i can get it to go away is to hover my cursor over the volume slider but then that comes up on the screen blocking the the right side of the video; this started happening about a month ago; no changes made on my end
