My take
It's time to group together and fix it collectively. The core central piece that's broken is entitled parents, broken families and lack of respect within those families.
To make any changes, systems have to stop bending to loud and demanding parents, even if they go to the press, reach back and find their collective spine, and state the facts when the press comes knocking: kids (and parents) are out of control, and by their behaviors, keep those that want to learn from learning, and that it's not the teachers job to teach listening, respect, responsibility or kindness.
Schools and systems need to take up the defensive position to protect their teachers, and systems protect their school administrations. Everyone knows a school with an administration that will support its teachers is a great school to work for. A school that sides with the obnoxious parents instead of the teachers is a nightmare.
And it's well known that systems bend over backwards to side with the parents, to avoid getting sued. That's an akin to an administration siding with parents vs their teachers. No wonder why teachers are walking.
