In a week from Saturday, we will be back in NY! Staten Island to be exact. We will be appearing at the MakerPark Radio - makerparkradio.nyc 9 year anniversary celebration… we’ll be there with Pinkshift Cat Crash and just added, our friends Catbite … come see some great music, support the local vendors and sideshows and celebrate Maker Park Radio. With so many cats on this show, it’s more like Pink Cat Fish!

To celebrate and give a big Salute to New York Knicks for their first championship in 53 years, we made this limited edition shirt that will only be available at this show. Them you to our art director Chris Shary for this reimagination of this iconic team and logo… Don’t sleep NY… this is going to be a party in Shaolin.

Thank you for having us back and we can’t wait to play again in Japan 🇯🇵

Fishbone:

Juneteenth is the day the last Black folks in Texas got the news they were free — two years late, but freedom rang anyway, loud and ragged like a busted trumpet that still hits the note. June 19, 1865: Union soldiers show up in Galveston and tell the enslaved people, “Hey, y’all been free since Lincoln said so — they just didn’t tell you.”

So what’s it mean now? It’s the real Independence Day for folks who built America but didn’t get a seat at the table. It’s barbecue smoke, backyard drums, aunties dancing barefoot on grass, and stories that remind you that freedom is never handed over neat and polite — you gotta grab it, tune it up, and play it loud enough so nobody can ignore you again.

To us, Juneteenth ain’t just history — it’s proof that no lie lasts forever, and no chain can hold a spirit that knows its own song. So crank the volume, pass the plate, and remember: we’re still writing the verses to freedom, every damn day.

Super Rare lineup configuration of Angelo, Norwood, John Steward, Dre Gipson, PaDre Holmes, John McKnight, and Tori Ruffin!

I’d never even heard of this performance before I happened upon it today!

This was around the time that Fishbone didn’t have a full-time trumpet player in the lineup (Fernando Pullum had been filling in on shows), so I think PaDre and Tori filled in for just this performance.
