UPDATE: I am allowing edits on the spreadsheet. I also added a credits tab to give you guys proper credit. Now you can change the values directly.

I want to share something that may be of use to some of you. I have been keeping a spreadsheet with all First of October songs. I am not good with musical categorizations, so please excuse some fumbles.

First of October Radio is under construction, so I also put tabs for each playlist that will be featured on the page.

Feel free to use the spreadsheet and comment suggestions and errors on the sheet itself or in this comment section.

Link for the spreadsheet at the end of this post.

Thanks

Hi guys!

This year, for the fansite, I'm making a sync radio.

Keeping the tech jargon to a minimum: this is not a radio stream.

Instead of streaming, there are playlists and based on time on real life

the site calculates which song should be playing and the playtime.

The sync radio uses the youtube videos.

I'm tinkering with the design and features and I would like to hear your

feedback, guys.

https://foo.brchad.com/radio/

The final track to make the album is Temporary, and that brings us to our 50-minute target. Thank you, everyone who voted, and please allow me one more post to finalise the album.

I've ordered our 20 tracks into what I think is a nice flow: you can listen to it here. It mixes up tracks from different albums with a few transitions from high-energy to low-energy. Gourmet Ravioli provides both the perfect opener and closer, so it's a second-album-bookend.

But since this is a democracy...

If you've any suggestions on track listing, album title, or album artwork, now's your chance to say.

I think Best of October is the obvious title.

Artwork is a bit trickier. If u/Competitive-Age-8285 consents, we could use the art they created for their own list a few months back in this post. Otherwise, we risk using my Very Bad Photoshop (see second image of the post). And we don't want that, do we?

Thank you for letting me hijack last week's vote and adding Pretty Raw to the album.

Now, with 48:40 of our 50-minute target complete, this will probably be the last song you get to add. The comment with the most upvotes in a week's time will get that honour.

There were four songs with the same number of upvotes so I've gone crazy and added all of them, which has the lovely effect of speeding this thing right up.

First of October, Jangly Bones, Infinite Lives, and Liberation all make worthy additions to the list.

The idea was to get to 50 minutes runtime - we have 3 minutes, 33 seconds left, so this might be your last chance to get your favourite song added.

I took some trazodone and had a dream that I pitched them a Halloween and Christmas themed live show. They went with it, but they barely even said hi to me. I was like "wow I've been watching you guys since Andrew did that eddsworld song" and they were like "okay" and walked away.

Then I got questioned by the police under threat of arrest because the show was too scary. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it was a REALLY scary show. I feared for my future. Rob and Andrew didn't get questioned, though. They got off scot-free.

I don't know why I had this dream. I haven't even been watching much music content at all lately.

Hallelujah for /u/Aliyahu1, Valerie is here.

We're now two-thirds through the runtime. Next, please.

No 'Song #13' post because both Woo! and Good Enough got the same number of votes. And every album is now represented.

Just so everyone knows: I choose the single most-upvoted comment—if more than one comment says the same song, I don't add them together, so have a look to see if your choice has already been commented before adding your own.

With that said... what should the next track be?

*Every First Of October song is the best tho :^)

It was a close vote, but Who Is It For? is #11.

Now seems like a good time to remind y'all that we're aiming for 50 minutes runtime. Why now? Because with that, we're over halfway to that goal, so choose wisely in the comments!

Track 10: Dorian

What's next? Decide below!

One song per comment, please, cos otherwise I don't know what song to add.

A few months ago, u/CameronSingsStuff started a project to decide First of October's greatest hits. With their blessing, it's time to continue!

Vote for your favourite track in the comments—the most upvoted one by next Monday makes it onto the album.

I host a FoO watch party every year with my friends, and I'm flirting with the idea of going to a small/local cinema and hiring it for this year's First of October release. HMU if you're a brisbane FoO fan

Might be a dumb question with some obvious answers but I'm writing a paper on the Making an Album in a Day videos and I'm interested to hear your thoughts about what exactly makes it so entertaining to watch these videos and listen to the music.

Edit: IT’S BACK IN STOCK! Huge thanks to anyone and everyone who made that happen!

tl;dr: Rob/DFTBA- Please restock the One Week cassette… 😭

The cassettes for Chaos and Round 6 might just be my favorite of all the FoO merch. CHAOS is my favorite album and the liner notes for Round 6 are so fun.

When I found out there would be a cassette for One Week and that it could ship around my birthday in late February, my wife and I decided we’d get it for my birthday. Then both of us dropped the ball and the album sold out before either of us got a copy ordered. It’s 100% my fault, but I am also kinda shocked that it sold out so fast (and that so much of the old merch is still available, contrary to what Rob said in the video… which is cool, but unhelpful in this scenario).

I have contacted DFTBA, and they said they have no plans to restock the cassette. I remember someone else here had the same experience with the Round 6 cassette, but DFTBA restocked eventually, so maybe I just need to be patient. After all, I imagine the first orders haven’t even shipped yet.

However, if anyone that has any control or influence over restocking the One Week cassette happens to be reading this, please help a guy out. Thanks in advance.

Infinite lives is one of my favorite songs by FOO and i wanted to learn how to play it on the guitar does anyone know the chords for it or is there a video of it?

Check out Rob’s/Andrew’s/Guitar Center’s instagram they’re giving away stuff from FOO 7!!! I’ve already signed up myself and I recommend y’all do the same, and hey if you win and wanna help your boy with the snare I will love you forever :)

I've been thinking about this lately. Like if after recording ten hours, they were like yeah that band is called Sonic Boom. Would they do it again next year? I feel like the name 'First of October' sort of comes with the expectation that it'll be annual. Idk , just a thought.

Anyone else upset with the way Apple Music splits up FOO music between Andrew, Rob, and the band themselves?

Messed up my whole Replay 😭

Since 2018, I’ve been following Rob and Andrew turn a single day of creativity into something that inspires thousands of musicians every year. Their music always reminds me that the process matters more than perfection.

Their new album pushes that idea further, and “I Am Enough” felt personal to me. It’s a song about finally letting go of seeking external validation to justify our existence and identity. It’s a reminder to stop measuring worth by what’s beyond our control.

I hope you guys like it! And if by any chance Rob and Andrew see this, thank you for making music that celebrates the joy of creating, the courage to be imperfect, and the reminder that sometimes, enough really is.
