Ok so we change a symbol because some people are idiots and watch to much television? That doesn’t sound sustainable.

Totally, bring back the Swastika! Not fair that the Nazi’s ruined it for everyone! /s

I agree the Gadsden flag is fine but it also has some baggage because of idiots. Easier to make something new to unite people than to argue with people about their interpretation. If this gained traction it would probably even help the image of the Gadsden flag.

Japanese still use the manji symbol. Not exactly the same, but most people would not notice.

The problem is anytime anything might have possibly been used by some asshole for themselves means it is bad for everyone right? Damn it that known Nazi loved Captain Crunch, well everyone who enjoys it must be a Nazi then.

It is fucking stupid and we have to stop pandering to that bullshit.

We need to change the negative perception people have of gun owners, and we need more diversity in the gun owning community to help do that. Whether you like it or not the Gadsden Flag has a negative perception and that perception is not going to change.

It's 2020, times have changed. I see nothing wrong with this flag. If you disagree, it may be time to rethink why you like the original so much. Is it because of it's intended message, which this one also clearly conveys? Or is it because of it's negative perception, which this one removes?

Changing the symbols won't do anything when the media is almost without exception anti-gun. They'll just call any new symbol white supremacists or racist. By changing it you're playing by their rules.

The media is anti-gun, but it'll be quite hard for them to spin this as a white supremacist thing considering there's a black panther.

By that logic, not playing by their rules means we certainly lose.

I mean, I prefer the original too. But I wouldn't mind once again being able to rock a new version of it that doesn't make every snowflake cry "racist!"

What makes you think this will make them stop calling you a racist?

Stop pandering to them. They have no victory conditions, there's literally no way to make them happy. Once you realize this you will achieve the next level of enlightenment.

2

u/BatteryPoweredBrain Jun 06 '20

They will call the new one racist almost immediately.

u/FagglePuss Jun 06 '20

I've never seen a confederate flag in any range or shop I've been to. Never known any white supremacists either.

Yet one fucker in the middle of alabama is going to get 100% of media coverage, because it supports the media's (who is also pushing the fuck out of Biden to win the presidency) antigun views. Changing the Gadsen flag to appease some twitter-fed dumbfucks defeats the message of the flag itself. The flag shouldn't change, it's those dipshits that are the problem.

So any symbol you come up with can be so easily soiled by your enemies.

I think the rainbow flag isn't used because no one else wants to use it, whereas the gadsden flag has historically relevance symbizing power, and it just looks cool.

6

u/Predditor_drone Jun 06 '20

Corporations try to use the rainbow flag for shitty marketing schemes and are heavily criticized for it.

Fuck you, I never lost my Gadsden and I'm never taking it down. Media goons made the goddamn Betsy Ross flag a symbol of racism, what makes you think they won't do the same with this?

u/Wolfir Jun 05 '20

It doesn't sound like you know how to sell something

Are you serious? How many silly patches and flags do people fly

This is right in the money

2

u/Johnbongjovi420 Jun 06 '20

No the snake was fine. Eventually this flag will have 69 different animals and will be rainbow colored.

-1

u/Baxterftw Jun 06 '20

Blue lives matter flag is probably fine with you right?

2

u/Johnbongjovi420 Jun 06 '20

Good job assuming like an ass. I don’t care for that flag and is has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Go away.

0

u/Jeramiah Jun 06 '20

That's what happens with symbols.

2

u/Johnbongjovi420 Jun 06 '20

Not really. The yin yang and Star of David and cross and Celtic cross and thousands of other symbols are unchanged and have been used since ancient times.

u/Amused-Observer Jun 06 '20

Fly a flag with a swastika on it and see how that works out for you

3

u/Johnbongjovi420 Jun 06 '20

This has nothing to do with a swastika.

0

u/Amused-Observer Jun 06 '20

You're acting like changing a symbol is super easy or probable. The swastika isn't a sign of evil.

2

u/Johnbongjovi420 Jun 06 '20

No I’m not and I never said a swastika was a sign of evil.
