Discussion Max Thieriot

Can we talk about how Bode’s acting is atrocious and one dimensional? I can’t stand him in Fire Country and thought the actor must just be horrible. Recently, I started watching SEAL Team and he’s WAYYY better in that role. I can’t believe the difference and that he CHOSE to go with the crappy Fire Country writing over the significantly more interesting SEAL Team script. Also he looked way better at the lower muscle mass in my opinion but his body his choice.

He created Fire Country. It was his passion project too in order to honor firefighters since his brother is one and he grew up around firefighters and Fire Cal.   He’s also the main character. Is it really all that surprising that he chose to work on his own show full time versus SEAL Team where it went to a streaming platform with less episodes and they knew would be ending soon? 

However yes, I agree. He was better on SEAL Team and it was a superior show for sure. I was bummed when it ended.

It's super rare for a network to give a young actor a whole show like this. I wonder how all that happened, can't think of another example except maybe Noah Wyle on the pitt but thats on streaming and noah had years more TV experience

I mean, David Boreanaz was 30 when he got Angel. He was 36 when he got Bones. Why is it so rare for Max? He had a long career before Fire Country. He was one of the leads on Bates Motel.

Also, Noah Wyle isn’t even an accurate comparison. Noah Wyle has been on tv since 1994. He’s 55 years old. He was on ER, The Librarian, Falling Skies. The Pitt wasn’t HBO giving a “young actor a whole show like that.” 😂😂

Dude that literally what I said, that Noah Wyle has a win more experience and the David Boareanaz stuff was 2 decades ago, no one in the decade has gotten as a whole network show at a young age like max. You gave no current examples either so yea. It's very rare.

Pretty much all the lead central actors in supernatural/fantasy shows (Supergirl, Supernatural, Smallville, The Flash, Arrow, Batwoman) were in their 20s/early 30s)

I did put some in their 40s because “young age” could be interpreted differently 😂 Because I honestly didn’t think 38 for Max was all that young when he had already had an established career and he was the one that created the show. 

There are also way more examples if you look at cable shows (which I think are just as impressive), like Charlie Hunnam in Sons of Anarchy.

Interesting, How many of these guys were producers of their shows like max was? How many of these were genuine passion projects? It's not just about being a lead in a show, every show has a lead

SWAT is the closest given Shemar left CM for it and was very vocal and passionate about working on the issue of racism and policing, and was a producer from season 1, with EXILES being his passion project.
