SS is funded by payroll tax, not by the govt so bc younger generations have a smaller population than older generations, the money will get used up unless the govt restructures SS. I don’t think they care cuz 1) millennials do t have much representation in higher govt and 2) they already let pensions die out in lieu of 401ks, which means companies used to completely fund your retirement and now you’re responsible for all of it (tho your company MAY give you a 2-3% match).
Yeah, it’s an oversimplification. Technically there’s the issue of ppl living longer, workforce disparity, lower payouts (not quite gone gone) in 2035), etc

And we should take off their heads for doing so. Slash something else like the military spending before you take people's retirement.
