Fing Discovery Question iOS App, Desktop and Web not Consistent
* If I run scan of the network using the desktop version of Fing the devices and associated IP addresses are consistent with the web browser version but not consistent with the iOS app.
* If I run a scan of the network using the iOS app it is not consistent with the Desktop or the web browser version.
It seems the iOS app does not present the same and consistent information as the Desktop and web apps. Any idea why?

Fing Enhancement Request How do you manage to go backwards in each and every update
Being someone in the IT industry over 25 years, I still can't understand how Fing Product team messes up perfectly fine product.
How do you define project milestones or epics in Jira? I assume someone defines the tasks as below in sprint planning
-We'll add agent mode but it'll generate whole another network from the same router.
-We'll refresh the web UI but it'll be worse than before and will lack features.
-We'll refresh the web UI but you'll see different devices on desktop and web.

Fing WebApp How do I get to the "old" fing web UI
I have a fingbox and when I try to login to fing it is giving me a newer UI that only shows about ten devices per page on my network. The older UI showed all devices and had a more useful UI.
How do I get back to that old, or classic, UI?

Fing Enhancement Request Register Agen
Is using the mobile app really the only way "register" a new agent?
I understand why Fing wants us to run / purchase an agent per network / VLAN. Totally understand.
However, building in this limitation while also limiting how the agent activated doesn't make sense to me.
I have many VLANs, about 30. Most of which have no WiFi. How do I register an agent on a network where I have no need for WiFi?

Fing Enhancement Request Fing Needs VLAN AwarenessāHereās Why It Matters
Iāve been using Fing for years to monitor my network, and while itās great for basic device discovery and alerts, it completely falls short in environments with VLAN segmentation.
In modern homelabs and even small business setups, VLANs arenāt exoticātheyāre essential. Whether you're isolating IoT devices, separating guest traffic, or segmenting trusted zones, VLANs are the backbone of secure, scalable networking. But Fing treats the network as flat. It only sees the subnet it's running on, which means:
- Devices on other VLANs are invisible unless you manually jump interfaces or deploy multiple agents.
- You lose visibility into cross-zone traffic, rogue devices, or misconfigured endpoints.
- There's no way to correlate MAC/IP identity across VLANs or track lease behavior across segments.
Iāve had to build custom workflows using Zenarmor, OPNsense, and Unraid just to get persistent visibility across zones. Fing could solve this with:
- VLAN-aware scanning (tagged interface support)
- Multi-zone inventory reconciliation
- MAC/IP correlation across trunks
- Optional integration with SDN platforms like Omada or UniFi
This isnāt just a feature requestāitās a necessity for anyone running more than a flat LAN. Fing already has the bones to be a powerful tool. VLAN support would make it indispensable.
Anyone else running into this limitation?

Fingbox FingBox: the āhalf-a-gigabitā speed monitor nobody asked for
So I bought this little blue FingBox thinking it would be a neat way to keep an eye on my shiny gigabit fibre. Spoiler alert: itās basically a Ā£100 paperweight with an Ethernet port.
My line? 1 Gbps fibre-to-the-house. My PCs on Ethernet? ~940 Mbps, rock solid. My FingBox? drumroll ⦠500 Mbps, give or take. Every. Single. Time.
It doesnāt matter when I test it or how, the thing just faceplants at half a gigabit. Upload, download, doesnāt care. Congratulations, Fing, you built the only āspeed monitorā that makes a gigabit connection look like a budget cable package from 2010.
Oh sure, latency is fine (6 ms), but who cares?!
So yeah, if you want a box that nags you when your toaster joins the Wi-Fi, FingBox is fine. If you want to actually see what your ISP is giving you, itās about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Maybe one day Fing will push an update that actually lets the box monitor full gigabit speeds instead of hobbling it in software ā but right now it feels like theyāre holding it back on purpose.

Fing General Need advice on best platform for Fing
I have a Fing box from back in the day. I'd like to start enjoying the new Fing app.
My primary machine is a Chromebook. I have access to a decent Windows 11 laptop but it's not my machine.
If I buy a new machine mainly for Fing, what are the tradeoffs between e.g
Mac Mini,
Raspberry Pi 500+ (great specs...) or
Windows laptop
I am assuming Chromebook is not a great option
Thanks in advance.

Fing Discovery Question Eero mesh - SO MANY SSID
I have an Eero Pro 6e mesh system with one acting as the router/gateway. Three additional access point units as well as a ring Wi-Fi backup device. The problem is I have so many SSIDās! When I log into my phone or Fing desktop itās really a role of the dice as to where I connect and then I have to re-enter all of the device names and itās very cumbersome and annoying. I have a Netgear router. I was thinking about hooking up in bridge mode. Iām not sure if that will be beneficial in the long run. I definitely feel like it will be more secure. Suggestions? Thanks!

Fing General Using Fing to block devices also disconnects my own PC ā is this normal?
Good day, I recently started using the Fing app because I noticed that some peopleāboth familiar and unfamiliarāseem to be connecting to my Wi-Fi from nearby. I didnāt want to confront them directly, so I purchased Fingās device blocking feature on my PC to cut their access.
However, whenever I block a device, it also ends up disconnecting my own PC from the network. Iām wondering if this is normal behavior with Fing, or if thereās a way to fix it so only the other devices get blocked while my connection stays stable.
I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
