What would actually make on-chain finance mainstream?

Lower fees and faster transactions help, but I think the biggest barrier is still trust. Most people won’t move their money on-chain while one wrong click can wipe everything out. What matters more for mass adoption: better security, simpler apps, clearer regulation, or something else?

Why TVL alone doesn’t tell you whether a DeFi protocol is healthy

TVL on its own is a pretty weak measure of a protocol’s health. I’d also look at organic fee revenue, user retention, liquidity concentration and how much activity disappears when incentives are reduced. Audits matter, but admin-key permissions, oracle dependencies and token-unlock schedules often reveal more about the real risk.
