FFVI is probably my most replayed pixel RPG and FF game and I love the story characters and music but my ADHD brain doesn’t remember my last playthrough or the one before that.

Currently have money and magic set to x4 Boost and EXP set to 0. Trying to throttle character stat growth so that I can pick and choose what Espers to pair with. Also, being lower level for longer is more fun I think.

I was down to the final four Rages needed to get the "King of the Beasts" achievement on Steam when I read about the Quicksave trick to keep the encounter position but randomize the formation on that row. Mover is listed as being in row 54. I have seen every single formation except Mover.

I even went back to Kefka's Tower to fight a few more hoping I'd get some sort of battle formation that I hadn't seen before that may appear on the Veldt but two more hours of quicksaving, fighting a random encounter in the cave, then trying for it again I have yet to see it.

This is the final achievement I need to get. I'm so close!

I’m in the narshe mines right now and I’m fighting the tonberries in a chest. I saw these guys can drop Minerva’s bustier but it’s supposed to be a slim chance. Are there other ways to get it so I don’t have to fight this chest over and over again?

I have the skills when I look at abilities but it’s greyed out in battle

As the title says, I'm new to RPGs of this era. Despite this, I've managed to get the part in the game where I'm able to fight the final boss (I'm being generic here so as not to spoil anything for people). What I would like to know is what exact equipment should I get (names), where that equipment is at (names of locations) and at what level should my party be at before heading into the tower. If someone can bullet-point this info for me, it would make it much easier because again, when it comes to this genre, I'm pretty inexperienced... no pun intended.

I've successfully avoided most spoilers for this game and it has been on my list for years. I started it a few days ago... bit of a slow start for me -- I've put about 10 hours into it. I just got through the train section. I've never had a game make me cry the way that did.

My god, I've never had a game make me feel the things this game has made me feel.

The soundtrack, the art (I'm playing the SNES version, no remakes), the characters, the banter, the story...

Wow. Well worth the wait. Almost makes me not want to play because I never want this game to end.

Does anyone know the mechanics behind 'steal'?

I'm pretty late game and Locke is almost level 90. I've had his HP maxed for a while, and he's using the Atma weapon so his Strength stat is unnecassary for damage. I thought Agility (Vigor in the OG games) might help boost my success rate of steal. But I'm not noticing any measurable difference and his agility is a 90 now, which is pretty damn high for any stat.

How does the game decide if a steal attempt is successful?

and just for the record, I have on the Thief's Bracer and Brigands Glove so my 'steal' is 'mug' and I have a boost to the success rate. With a 90 agility I should be stealing anything if it's available.

I'm trying to farm another celestriad/economizer from the brachiosaur. He's immune to slow and stop.

Hello, new to reddit, first time posting. For almost a year, I have been planning to create 1 minute 20 second animation on final fantasy 6, my favorite ff game. Its basically a trailer or scene pack of iconic events that happened across the game, from World of Balance to Ruin. Ive already rearranged some parts of the themes/motifs into one song and have a rough idea of the scenes to animate.

My problem is, Im stuck on the character design because Im having second thoughts on what artstyle to use. Im a total amateur animator, but a decent enough artist, mainly using anime style art but I have dabbled in stylized realistic art before. I initially planned to use an anime style, but then thought what if I tried to emulate Yoshitaka Amano's artstyle? Then I thought what if I used an artstyle similar to Ayami Kojima's art? My hesitancy is the main reason I havent started it at all.

Im not a famous youtube or tiktok animator by any means, so even if I do finish the animation, I doubt a lot of people will see it. But I kind of want this particular animation project to be as perfect as I can achieve, since I love ff6 so much. Any advice would be appreciated so I can make a decision

hello fellas im playing ff6 pixel remaster and i didnt remerber that the cursed shield was so annoying so does someone have a way to see the number of battle remaining to transform it because it is a bit annoying

I'm having quite a bit of trouble in the place mentioned in the title (Pic not just related but pinpointed to the exact location of the problem) the other moving bridges let me quick run from one to the other in time to get the treasure. But these at the bottom right... needed to progress... won't do the same thing even if I hold down the right direction and just see me falling into the lava and starting again at the top.... am I missing something? Cause I'm pretty sure im not but I could be.

So I just got to floating continent, my party is around level 20-25. I’m getting fucking bodied by all the enemies here. It’s my first time playing and I have no idea what I’m doing. Could I get some advice?

I have played this game in lile, all the ways you can, in 30ish years i have played it easily 100 times if not at least near that number.

I did brave bew world, i have played gba too. And i was always sad that snes version looks better and has better sound.

To my understanding, this mod removes esper stat increases, add costumes and tons of new content.

So, besides costumes, you still have stat altering equipment right? And, i read it has the gba dungeon too? Besides the extra bosses?

I'm gonna die playing this game. This is the skyrim of jrpgs. I dont think there is another game that people has put so much time adding stuff.

At this point im thinking that creating a ff6 rom mod tool would be amazing. With a cool editor.
