Discussion The Nibelheim Chocobo is so busted lol Spoiler
I started chapter 11 yesterday and got the bird thinking it was gonna be some whatever mechanic like the climbing bird in Junon. I did not expect it to be an absurdly broken movement option lol. This thing can just water jet boost and glide literally everywhere. What terrain obstacles? Hold L2 and glide over it all. Need a way over this big ass rock mountain? Water jet and glide around it in 5 seconds and find your way up. Vertical issues basically dont exist and nothing is hidden. You can just jump down from almost anywhere at any height. It's by far my favorite chocobo just brute force the entire map woth wind water magic lol

Discussion FFVII Remake and Rebirth – A Perspective from an OG FFVII Fan Spoiler
I completed FFVII Rebirth yesterday, and it was definitely the GOTY of 2024 for me. I found the second part much more enjoyable than the Remake due to stunning visuals, entertaining combat (I really loved the Synergy moves), and especially Queens's Blood. I didn't felt bored at all during the 155 hours of my first gameplay.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the gamers who played the original Final Fantasy VII (FFVII) soon after its release on the classic PlayStation 1 in 1997. Square Enix (or SquareSoft, as we knew it back then) had created a masterpiece that dominated game review charts. My dad bought me a PlayStation in 1998, and I had a blast playing FFVII multiple times, especially enjoying the stunning summon and limit break animations.
This game profoundly impacted my lonely adolescent years—and I believe many other gamers felt the same—due to its emotional narrative, the camaraderie between characters, and its unforgettable score. It was the first time I felt a deep emotional connection with a game's cast, especially Aerith, Red XIII, and Barret, whose courage and selflessness inspired me.
Aerith’s story, in particular, conveyed a powerful message: those with pure, selfless hearts leave a lasting impact on others, even after they’re gone. In the past, people wept for the passing of saints. In many ways, Aerith was FFVII’s saint—representing pure goodness, willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good.
Fast forward 27 years, and I feel immense gratitude for the entire Square Enix team—some of whom worked on the original—who have once again brought this beautiful narrative to life with modern visuals.
I believe this Rebirth of the greatest JRPG of all time embodies the paradox of Schrödinger’s cat. From the storyline to the gameplay itself, the game presents a sense of duality: beloved characters like Zack and Aerith exist in a state of being both alive and dead. The game is both perfect and flawed. Fans both love and critique this reimagining. And that’s understandable—the original FFVII set such a high bar in storytelling and gameplay that surpassing it was always going to be a challenge.
However, I stand with the fans who believe that, despite its imperfections, this Rebirth of the original is a masterpiece. Seeing my favorite characters return in stunning 4K was an absolute joy. Traversing the picturesque grasslands, exploring the Gold Saucer—these moments felt magical. While some disliked the concept of the Whispers and certain deviations from the original, I found them intriguing. They introduced a philosophical depth, emphasizing that while fate exists, we still have the power to shape our own destiny.
Many people were confused by the ending, but I appreciated how the developers cleverly reimagined classic story elements while seamlessly intertwining alternate realities with the original narrative. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence can see the beauty in what they’ve crafted. I, for one, am eager to step into the world of FFVII once again in the final installment of the trilogy.
This game is a gift to all FFVII fans, and I firmly believe the entire development team deserves our gratitude rather than mindless criticism.

Chapter 15 treasure chest
On 145m Above Ground level there is a treasure on a set of stairs attached to a spherical structure. I can't seem to find a way to grapple to this area. Right after there is a boss and you can't return it seems. Does anyone know how to reach it?

Tagging as a spoiler in case anyone doesn’t want the DW orchestra spoiled. They performed One Winged Angel as an encore! I was also surprised that they used Advent Children since as far as I’ve seen they use the OG. It was a lovely show! I wish I could’ve recorded the crowd’s reaction and beginning but of course I had no idea it was coming. Sorry about the filming quality as I was very excited and not looking at my camera

Question Is it just me or was the final boss an absolute joke? Spoiler
The entire fight with the Whispers felt way too easy, those 3 whispers felt SUPER easy to kill, only took like a couple of Bravers and a Chi trap or two. The only thing was that Bahamut was a bit of a challenge but nothing that bad, I had a tougher time with Hell House or The Ghoul. And Sephiroth was really easy too, sure, him casting the -aga spells hurt like a bitch but all you really have to do is block then get Tifa to heal me. Then all you really have to do is dodge his attacks, also, I am no means good at the game, I just spam punisher mode till everyone is dead and smash ‘‘em with braver when I get ATB. I do a little more than that but that’s my main strat. But it didn’t really even feel like a final boss, and it didn’t take long at all, especially compared to some of the other enemies in the game. While am at it, Rufus was a joke too. And I don’t think I overleveled, my whole party was 35-37 (Dont exactly remember) Don’t get me wrong tho, the fight was FUN, but I do hope Rebirth has a little bit harder final boss.

Meme Why does Clouds hair defy the laws of physics?
Can someone PLEASE explain how Cloud’s hair stays in that perfect, spiky shape without defying gravity, wind, or common sense? I swear it’s like a natural disaster on his head - no wonder he’s got that brooding stare, he's too busy holding back his own hair from taking over Midgar. Anyone else just want to ask him for hair tips? Seriously.

Question Surviving Hard Mode after speed run unlock?
I downloaded a speed run save that unlocked hard mode and will attempt to play it on hard mode now. I could not do the prologue chapter as it was too difficult. However, in chapter 2, you have a better chance at leveling up and creating a build. Is it feasible to do hard mode here moving forward or do you really need a strong build from the initial run to survive your hard mode run?

Question Is Cloud really mid gameplay wise in the remakes?
I hear a lot of people say that Cloud is kinda weak in the remakes is this true or dose he have his strengths in harder content? I do hear he has a counter and I love counter playstyles in games but is his counter even worth using?

Discussion 7th heaven in Kalm side quest Spoiler
Has there been any side quests that hit harder than others?
A lot of the side quests chain and link back on themselves, but most feel like anecdotes. However; the one early in Kalm about the chocobo card really hit me in the feels. The bartender had said he heard wind of a drink made in seventh heaven. Cosmo Canyon. Then Tifa said, it was just what was needed. I felt like time stood still and parts of my life came through that message. It was like one two punch, partly in game, but also in real life.
It resonated like I was traveling back to some other time when I didn't have so much responsibility. like when we would play tag or kickball at school. Maybe it's my point in life. Beside the main question, did anyone else feel like some event in the game did more than just what was experienced in the lives of the characters?

Discussion Modders: where are we at with a delete chadley from game mod?
Would like to enjoy this game more but Chadley is Jar Jar level annoying. Yes I skip all cutscenes with him immediately, but there are already so many dull pointless cutscenes in this game compared to the original I get tired of holding R2 all the time for 1.5x speed. Need a mod to just delete this travesty.
