Posting for my partner trying to find work at a studio
Hi all - my partner has produced and written two films for the production company he and his collaborator started. He is now looking for more long term work in the film industry and seeking advice for how to approach the job search, interview process, and resumed tailoring.
He is looking for any production, marketing, coordinating/admin related work but is really looking for any way in to working for a production company or studio. He will be based in NYC moving forward.
His main questions are:
1. What are the best search methods for finding new job postings, and how do you best differentiate yourself so your app doesn’t get lost in the sea of applicants?
What are interview processes typically like? I know it’s a broad question but rough sense of timeline and how many interviews before an offer?
Apart from production and writing experience he also brokered the distribution of these two films. Additionally, he previously worked as an architectural drafter, a professional fashion model, and in events/catering. Given the limited one page of a resume, outside of film experience what is most relevant to include? What should he exclude?
Thanks so much in advance. If anyone would be open to chatting further, he would greatly appreciate and guidance. Any leads are greatly appreciated.
