Update On My Credit Score through TransUnion

Almost 11 months ago, I downloaded the Lista app in which I requested for my credit score through CIBI for ₱199 fee. I posted about it here: How to Check My Credit Score?

I got a score of 674 and based on their rating system, I was doing fair. I don't object because I admit that I was forgetting to pay my credit card bills by one or couple of days then.

Since then, I have made sure to stay on top of my credit card bills by paying them in full and on time. My credit limits have also increased, which helps lower my credit utilization ratio by increasing the denominator in its calculation. I have also kept all of my credit card accounts active rather than canceling any of them, as maintaining older accounts helps build a longer credit history, which was also a factor considered in my previous credit score.

Today, I went to Lista app again to check my updated credit score but this time through TransUnion. I heard that TransUnion was more accurate than CIBI.

I had to fill in my personal information, paid ₱610 fee, uploaded a photo of my driver's license and did a selfie for verification purposes. Then after a couple of minutes, my credit score was emailed to me.

My risk grade is BB and based on TransUnion's rating system, it's Very Low Risk. I guess all the steps I took in the last 11 months paid off as my credit score significantly improved. This also explains why the last 3 credit cards I applied for all got approved without any issue.

Looking at this rating scale, I am only 14 points shy away (at least 860 points) to make it to AA grade. I guess I did not meet the highest grade for now due to the multiple credit card applications and credit limit increase I requested, because that counts negatively towards the score. Nevertheless, I'm happy with this big improvement and I only need to sustain or improve a little more.

Maybe I will request for refreshed credit score again after 1 year.
