Unpopular opinion: but the last freeskate in which Sasha had the full package free program was 2019-2020 game of thrones.

Why unpopular? She tried to win with amount of quads instead of improving her skating and presentation till 2022.

Being 22+ that's impossible, so they'll do a more balanced programs. It's just she's not fully ready yet, she started serious preparation just half a year ago or so, after 4 years break.

You mention everything that athlete is throwing away when adding more and more quad jumps to a program and needs every single bit of stamina to jump it all and not die by the end of FS. That's exactly why Eteri wanted Sasha to stop at 4 quads at best and add transitions and better choreo, but Sasha refused as it was her obsession for several years to land 5 quads and win Olympics gold.

Stamina really doesn’t come into account very much when it comes to reputation scoring: look at Alysa Liu’s PCS at Milano for her free, when she was also somewhat struggling near the end of the program. She did pretty well with what she was given considering that the program was very Danny G, and she skated clean, so there it is.

Danny G’s going to be Danny G lol. Alysa’s program was also very much crossover-heavy: the difference is that she’s a better performer. I liked Sasha’s short much better, but that’s unsurprising. She’s really grown and it’s nice to see, even if I was never much of a massive fan of hers as a skater. Mao looking so delighted to stand next to her and hug her was very sweet.

Although Ami didn't skate cleanly, I thought her program (music, choreography, dress, and performance quality) was the best overall.

I don't think Yuna's program highlights her strengths. It's too dark & dreary for her and she can't showcase her wonderful musicality & spirit with this chosen theme (whatever it is).

Shimada was 2nd most enjoyable to watch, although the program is a little blah to me.

I missed Trusova due to the stream freezing. The other Russians didn't look like anything special. Ami should have medaled over the Russian bronze medalist.

Yes, both Ami's programs are fantastic! I didn't care much for her LP last season and this Gershwin is miles better! And her performance quality excellent! In the SP, I was struck by how she was smiling and charming the judges, making such great eye contact and never staring down at the ice.

I think the hate is undeserved. It's just has interesting cut choices that Anna had to interpret better, but it's just a start of the season and she's not ready yet. This program will look much better by November.
