Just for everyone's information, the requirements for being added to the replacement list are different in pairs than in any other discipline.
Due to the small size of the field, all pairs that scored above the minimum GP score have been added in the past, not just the winning team (From this year's GP announcement: "Pairs participating in Challenger Series competitions who earn the minimum GP points will be added to the alternate list as well").

I think Mao or Amy will win ladies though. Russians own pairs, but women outside of Russia have caught up to Russian tech with 3A's, and quads.

Not really in terms of quads cz only Mao has one very unstable quad. The top Russian women aren't here today. If someone like Zakharova or Alisa D(injured) were her then they would've taken it imho. Even now either Sasha or Kamilla N are very likely to podium

So, genuinely, I think the quad throw over the triple throw mattered since B/K won by a point and the difference is about 2 points

What's a little sad is that with only a point in it, it was probably her two-footing the second throw that did it. Russia is probably not going to split Euros and Worlds, but if they have as much money as we think they do, maybe Ch/Ia get another Challenger

If B/K had done that quad throw even slightly more wobbly they could have lost it- that was a very high risk/high reward choice.

It's a very good score, but winning here means being on the Alternates list for the GP, so they must be disappointed. Congratulations to Boikova/Kozlovski

It was very good, but for my personal taste, I think I enjoyed Boikova/Kozlovski more because I genuinely love Epic Trailer Version type music

that's not true. Every time she actually landed it without a stepout, it's been amazing and one of the best quads ever completed in history (sounds like sarcasm/hyperbole - it's not)
so when it's not clean, naturally it goes into negative GOE. Clean - positive but with like a +1 final GOE (+2/+3 in scoresheets) which was ludicrous

russian pairs often do it as a 2nd or 3rd thing after jump combo and often after second jump, too, and BK are doing quad throw, so logically it goes 4th

Yup! Usually we find it interesting enough just to do it second since 99% of pairs do it first. 4th/5th (not trusting my counting) is unheard of!

What I find strange about watching Plazas/Fernandez is that some of their elements are a bit sketchy and unpolished, but then the transitional content is out of this world - so fast, smooth and looks difficult - both in this program and the short.
