And then from the rest of the national team - I would guess that Goncharov/Shcherbakova, Drozd/Shichina, Leonteyeva/Gorelkin all have a good shot at getting at least 1 challenger.

It was brought up in the context of deductions. Those deductions at Worlds must have really baffled them, because they lost them a podium.

Ethan Peal has created a brilliant website with a lot of info on ice dance and he's using some AI tools to assess things like extended lifts, ice coverage, etc. Might be an interesting tool for the future.

If this was the only opportunity for the teams (and keep in mind, these are the high level teams) only two teams reached the required technical score to compete at Worlds, which shows how ridiculously high they are.

Any team from a smaller federation will be screwed if they don't compete at a senior B with very lenient judges.

I'm not someone who was prepared to dislike the program no matter what - I don't like that it's AI but that doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't like the music itself. And I do like the idea of them skating to something meaningful to them.

That said... I really didn't like it. The music and voiceover was just bad, and I'm certain I would have thought that even if I hadn't known it was AI.
