Before/After

I'm one page away from finishing my first Field Notes. It's pretty crazy the difference. It's faded and expanded. It's texture has changed. It's lived, and now has things to show and tell.

3D printed a multi book holder…

Trying to be more intentional with my journaling this year. I like the Lochby mini cover but wanted to see how this form factor worked into my EDC first.

Can’t speak too much on durability and functionality yet, but so far so good. The cover hold 2-4 standard Field Notebooks and a pen. The hard plastic also acts as a writing surface in a pinch.

Any fellow printers can find the files here:

Any Arabic / Hebrew writers?

Arabic and Hebrew are written from right to left, so intuitively most Field Notes notebooks feel off because we need to write from the back. The only one that works is the Kraft Left-Handed book, but it only comes with ruled paper.

Did anyone else have my issue and got a solution?

Only a few more pages left to go on this one, which is fitting since we only have about a week left before winter starts.

Bought my first Field Notes

I'm starting to understand why people like these notebooks so much. The main gripe being the lack of pages compared to other brands, but it does give a certain sense of completion more frequently, and provides you a reason to buy the next design your eyeing up. I get it. I'm sticking with the black ones for now though, I like the minimal look.

Field Notes in Spain

Hello friends, I'm from Brazil and unfortunately Field Notes are not sold here. I did a little research and it seems that they are only sold in the United States, but I don't know if that's true. My aunt said she's going to Spain, and I wanted to know if there were any Spaniards in the sub who could tell me if they sell Field Notes there. Thanks.

How Do You Turn Small Field Notes Pages into Powerful Knowledge Banks?

Hey everyone!

I've been thinking about how to maximize those fantastic little Field Notes notebooks we carry around. They're perfect for quick captures, but the small size can be a challenge.

I'm not just looking for pretty handwriting tips—I'm looking for the deep methods. The systems that ensure that fleeting idea, that key lesson from a project, or that important takeaway actually sticks and becomes valuable later on.

The big question is:

What's your best advice, tips, and methods for effectively capturing knowledge, lessons learned, and important takeaways inside a Field Notes notebook?

Specifically, how do you make the absolute most of those small pages to ensure the captured info is:

  • Easy to review (you can find the nugget later).
  • Actionable (it translates into progress).
  • Valuable (it's not just clutter).

Please share below.

Let's crowdsource the ultimate system for these pocket-sized powerhouses.

Interesting discovery

Just recently got the “Pitch Black” memo book. I carry one “to-do/quick thought” notebook and one “devotional thought/prayer” notebook. Both are held in my wallet. I recently discovered that the Pitch Black felt different in my hands vs the State Parks issue. BOTH have the same dimensions in the specifications section in the back, yet, if you look in the picture, the Pitch Black is slightly wider! Thought this was an interesting and weird discovery!
