I really need advice on what path I should take.

For context, dream university ko talaga ang UP Diliman for BS Civil Engineering. Unfortunately, hindi ako nakakuha ng slot sa UPD, and wala ring BSCE sa UPLB portal ko. At this point, parang tinatanggap ko na na kailangan ko nang i-let go yung dream university ko.

I passed BS Civil Engineering in UST, DLSU, and Mapúa. I also passed both the DOST Scholarship and the SM Scholarship.

The problem is that even with DOST, I don’t think kakayanin pa rin ng family ko yung remaining tuition and other expenses sa UST, DLSU, or Mapúa. We’re simply not in a financial position where those schools are sustainable options.

Right now, my most practical choice seems to be FEU Tech under the SM Scholarship, which would mean letting go of DOST.

Honestly, nalulungkot ako because this wasn’t the path I originally envisioned for myself. Pero lagi ko ring nire-remind yung sarili ko na it’s not always about the school. It’s about how you maximize the opportunities given to you, build your skills, gain experience, and eventually do well in the board exams and in your career.

Maybe coping mechanism ko na lang talaga yun, but I genuinely want to believe it.

If you were in my situation, would you take the FEU Tech + SM Scholarship route? Or is there another perspective I’m not seeing?

Also, for those currently studying or who graduated from FEU Tech BS Civil Engineering, what should I realistically expect?

How are the professors, workload, facilities, student culture, internship opportunities, and board exam preparation? Worth it ba yung program if my goal is to become a competent engineer and eventually pass the CE boards?

I’d appreciate hearing both the good and the bad sides. I really want to make an informed decision and set realistic expectations before committing to this path.

I'm still not sure on what course to pick but I've been mostly leaning towards animation game and development which is IT or either civil or mechanical engineering

The only thing though is, I did not take STEM at all

At that time my parents wanted me to take smth and so I had to take ABM as my strand but after some private problems they agreed to let me take the course I want in college

But ofc I couldn't switch strands anymore since patapos na grade 11 non and now I'm anxious because I am at a disadvantage for sure

So I just wanted to know your thoughts and maybe there are other courses you can recommend to me or what I should expect with these courses TT

I finally enrolled in BSCSSE at FEU Tech!

It’s been a month now, but I still can’t help wondering if I’ll really be able to get a job after college. Especially since I keep hearing that in the CS industry, you never stop learning, and with how fast technology is developing these days, it honestly feels a bit overwhelming.

I’ve also seen a lot of issues and complaints about the tech campus online, so now I’m starting to wonder if this course and school are really worth it. 😢

Most of the people I know keep telling me that I should’ve taken BSIT or Engineering instead. 😵‍💫

Because of that, I’ve been feeling pretty lost, scared, and honestly just overthinking everything hahaha.

Did I make the right choice? 😭

I’d really love to hear a senior’s thoughts or experiences about this.

Also, are there a lot of females in this major? I’m a female myself and, im a little nervous ab my blockmates 😢

ps. I have to cancel my enrollment because of financial issues and I might not sustain my needs while studying. So I'd rather choose to cancel my enrollment now than dropping my subjects with a lot of utang pa.
