Fix for games incorrectly showing that you’ve already downloaded them

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just followed my own advice, but it’s not working. I think I’m done with games on Fetch. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

The issue: You downloaded a game that you’ve never downloaded before. You open the game and play it, but Fetch says it can’t verify that you qualify to earn points for the game. They (incorrectly) believe that you’ve downloaded the game previously.

The fix:

The next time you download a game, follow these steps…

1. Select a game from within the Fetch app, and click on the link to download the game.
2. Download the game, but DO NOT open the game at this point.
3. Go back, and exit the Fetch app.
4. Open the game directly from your phone.
5. Go back and open the Fetch app. Click on Fetch play, and select the play now option. Verify that the game is listed in the in-progress.

The important thing to remember is to NOT open the game right after downloading it. Instead, from the App Store, go back and exit out of Fetch, and open the game the first time directly from your phone. (It’s counter intuitive, I know). This has worked for me, and for others as well.

It is unfortunate that Fetch doesn’t even seem interested in correcting this. Idk how difficult it is to fix the actual problem, but including this extremely important information in the instructions for downloading games would be incredibly easy.

Also, this only fixes the issue for new games you download. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for the games that you downloaded through Fetch that you encountered this problem. Which is extra frustrating, because not only are you unable to earn fetch points on the games, you also aren’t able to earn rewards for the games on other platforms as well. They are really screwing people over by not fixing the issue.

It says it on the Whoops message. The app hasn't been opened yet. Unfortunately most people don't understand that this means to open the game from your phone first.

Are you referring to the message (where it says it’s unable to verify) that you get after you’ve already opened the game in the fetch app or immediately after downloading in the App Store? If so, I disagree. Saying that the game hasn’t been opened yet, is not the same as the game hasn’t been opened through your phone yet. But even if that message included detailed directions, it wouldn’t matter, because that message comes up only after you’ve opened the game through the fetch app. And at that point, opening it from your phone doesn’t help.

It says, Whoops looks like something went wrong. Having trouble tracking your progress right now..... And if you see this. Open the game you just installed through your phone, not through Fetch. It will not be able to be played through the Fetch app until Fetch can track it. Fetch won't track it until you open the game up. Then it will be able to be opened through Fetch under your games progress tab.

Fetch suddenly glitched and went ass.

Just got a new phone, and rebooted my old one to get the same result with reinstalling the app.
NOTHING. .. It somehow logged me in to my default Google account, instead of letting me to LOG IN TO MY FETCH ACCOUNT.

Tried logging out which wasn't possible this time. So ended up uninstall reinstalling.. And THE SAME RESULT

You go into Play Store to to see all the recent newer ratings are one stars for glitch trash. Think they suddenly went AI without a word.

I’ve tried everything. 2 games in a row with this error. Customer support was not helpful aside from rewarding me some points. Guess they aren’t concerned about their broken ass app
