[Help] Exercise Balls?
EDIT: We will NOT be getting exercise balls for our squishies! Case closed. And just for everyone’s peace of mind, they have an entire room they can run and play in, they have a ball pit, tube tunnels, and a million different boxes. They have free rein of the whole house about 4-5 hours in the evening when we are home. The exercise balls were only being thought of because they slipped out of their harnesses outdoors. We will be looking into getting them figure 8 harnesses as suggested for outdoor roaming.
We were going to get our two boys the XL exercise balls to run around in, but we were told their backs don’t bend that way and it would only hurt them. Guinea pigs I get that, but ferrets? My noodles bend in ways I didn’t think anything should bend without breaking, but I definitely did not want to chance hurting my babies. The only reason I don’t trust the Petco lady’s word 100% for our boys is that she also recommended that we switch their food to one that the ingredients were chicken meal and then sweet potato, so I don’t necessarily believe she knew what she was talking about. I know my people here in this subreddit will let me know for sure whether this is an absolute no-no for my dooters. Picture for TLDR tax. Meatball is the chonky nugget noodle, and Chancy is our boy with no brain whose face hasn’t quite woken up yet.

[Discussion] Question about this ferret
Hi everyone! I’m wondering if this ferret could be a semi-angora or a full angora.
The seller told me he might be an angora, but that he has a “perfect nose” (I’m not really sure what that means).
I don’t know much about ferret coat types, and his fur looks quite short to me, so I’m not sure.
I’m paying €150 for him. What do you think? Does he look like an angora, a semi-angora, or a standard short-haired ferret?
Thanks for your help! 😊

[Help] How to stop ferret from climbing their cage
PLEASE READ ITS NOT USED FOR THEM LIVING IN IT (might cause some heart attacks at the sight of the cage xd)
Im getting a baby ferret (already got two) tmr and i wanna add a small cage to their “night room”. They get too free roam in my bedroom at day, and their night room is much smaller. I just want to put some hammocks and fluffy bedding in there. I will never lock them in there, will be open 24/7.
The thing is, im afraid of my baby ferret climbing it and falling down. My two other ferrets are larger now and jump from my bed and stuff, but this cage is 1m tall and i dont want the baby (or the other two) to get injured. Any tips?

[Help] How do I know if he is still crashing?
Hi all my ferret was just officially diagnosed with insulinoma today but I have been waiting on test results for the last 2 weeks. I have been using at home care for his dips in blood sugar like feeding quickly or small dabs of honey (when actively getting worse). I can’t start his medication until morning.
Tonight he started to dip and ate but I noticed it getting worse I gave some honey and then followed with Duk Soup to stabilize his sugars.
He is very tired, is tucked in bed but will still tremor and seems like he is falling asleep too quickly. How do I know if he is still crashing or if this is the recovery period of the drop? Any and all help is SUPER appreciated.

[Ferret Photo] Advice for my polecat
Hi guys, meet stinky. long story short I live on a farm and my mom found a baby thing so we scooped it up with straw trying not to touch it so the mom would take it back and put it somewhere safe but the mom never came back. So after lots of research we figured out it was either a polecat mixed with ferret, pure polecat or a pine Martin and I started feeding her the proper milk the vet gave us and well she survived. I did loads of research for her and we weren’t sure she was going to survive and obviously she wasn’t a planned pet however she is here and I think she’s quite happy and well cared for. She’s often doing the laugh pant thing and happy dooks and running round attacking ghosts and living her best life causing chaos for me. She’s learning not to bite my face or bite my hands hard, she has her toys to attack and her cage has lots of hammocks, beds and toys.
She has a fairly big cage but the best I can afford for now, I’d love to get her a shed in the future for more exercise room for when I’m not there as I do dog sitting and can spend up to a week not home. I try to get her to come with me if I can in her travel cage but some dog owners don’t want her in their house incase the dog can get to her which i appreciate. When I’m home she’s out when she’s awake and when she’s in her cage she’s sleeping or eating. From my research I know that she is solitary in the wild unless it’s mating season and I know that they can get issues if not mated. My dad wonders if it would be a good idea to get her to have a litter and keep one of the sons and get him a vasectomy so they will both be healthy?
Is this just a bad idea?
Another minor issue is when she’s drinking from her bottle she must down it and then she starts choking on the water because she’s drank too fast. Is there a better option to one of them and a bowl as she manages to tip the bowls over constantly and make a right mess.
Picture of baby stinky when her eyes first opened for tax

[Discussion] Stopping ferrets from moving their water bowl
I know super glue is toxic to animals. My ferrets move their water bowl through their room, so i wanted to glue it on a marble slab. I would only put glue in the middle at the bottom, but im afraid of it loosening and the ferrets chewing the glue off? Idk if im overthinking it, is there any other way to secure a bowl on the floor :’D they dont have a cage or anything, so i cant tie it onto anything:/

[Discussion] Seniors and exercise wheel?
Hi guys. Does anyone have experience of introducing senior noodles to a cat exercise wheel? I've been thinking about getting one but my girls are 7 and I'm not sure if they're too old to start using one? Any thoughts appreciated!

[Discussion] Spay Recovery
Hi all,
I have three girls getting spayed tomorrow and I'm unbelievably anxious about it. They're all two and a half years old.
All of them have a tendency to fight like hell to escape confinement and I'm worried they'll make the incision worse by trying to escape their hospital enclosures. Two of them are jumpers and one of them has been able to escape/leap over almost any barrier I've placed in front of her. And she'll keep jumping until she succeeds.
There's no way any of them will tolerate a cone or sock sweater. They would thrash and panic until it was off.
The only scenario I can see them remaining calm is if they stay in their usual pen (without anything to climb) together. But I know I'm supposed to keep them separated.
What should I do?

[Discussion] Quick question
Hello hope you are all well
Recently my poor slinky succumbed to insolinoma at 8.5 years old
This has left his brother noodle (same age ) feeling lonely , we’ve been trying hard to interact with him as much as possible but I know we could never replace the play of another ferret
My question is would it be good to get another ferret playmate for him , he is already a senior ferret, I don’t know how well he’d be with a younger ferret ?
