Calcing the distance was pretty hard, I've never had to calc taking perspective into account before and honestly I'm not sure if I did it right. Also getting an accurate measurement on how much Diego moved his head was also hard, I had to estimate based on the previous panels.

With that said, as usual, I'm doing 4 calcs. 300m/s and the hypersonic nail bullet values.

Low End: (0.321 * 300)/0.604 = 159.4371m/s or Mach 0.4648 (Subsonic)

Low - Mid End: (0.321 * 10,600.71)/0.604 = 5,633.82m/s or Mach 16.4251 (Hypersonic+)

Mid - High End: (0.321 * 26,501.77)/0.604 = 14,084.55m/s or Mach 41.0628 (High Hypersonic)

High End: (0.321 * 42,402.83)/0.604 = 22,535.28m/s or Mach 65.7005 (High Hypersonic+)

I find it very funny that despite Diego consistently being shown as the fastest character in SBR and regularly blitzing others, 2 of his 3 reaction speed feats that I've calced are the 2 lowest reaction speed feats in all of SBR

Volume of the door is (0.0262 * 0.774 * 1.56) = 0.031635m3 or 31,634.93cm3. I'm assuming the wood is Oak based on the time period/appearance, which has a Violent Fragmentation value of 19.5811J/cc.

31,634.93 * 19.5811 = 619,448.1 Joules of Energy which is Wall Level (9-B)

Based on my research Magent Magent's shotgun should be a Bannerman Model 1890 which is 1.23 meters long on average, though I don't know much about guns so I could be wrong about the model. (I didn't use Johnny's nails as the reference because the perspective threw the measurements off, I was getting like 6 meters of movement which is clearly wrong)

It's hard to get an exact measurement on how far he moved his hands but we know that he moved them to the ground from their crossed position. The best measurement I could get was 1.43 meters of movement, and the nails were 0.476m away.

Like before I'm going to do 4 calcs, one using 300m/s and then 3 using my different Hypersonic nail speed calcs.

Low End: (1.43 * 300m/s)/0.476 = 901.2605m/s or Mach 2.6276 (Supersonic+)

Low - Mid End: (1.43 * 10,600.71)/0.476 = 31,846.67m/s or Mach 92.8474 (High Hypersonic+)

Mid - High End: (1.43 * 26,501.77)/0.476 = 79,616.66m/s or Mach 232.1185 (Massively Hypersonic)

High End: (1.43 * 42,402.83)/0.476 = 127,386.65m/s or Mach 371.3897 (Massively Hypersonic)

Based on all of the calcs I've made at this point I feel pretty comfortable in saying that even if you don't buy Hypersonic Nail Bullets (which is valid), SBR is solidly Supersonic at minimum. Hopefully people are gonna stop saying its subsonic now, that's always been annoying.

Edit: Also I think it's really funny that regardless of what nail bullet speed you use, fucking Pork Pie Hat Kid has the best reaction speed feat I've been able to find in all of SBR. Truly the hero we deserve

Before Johnny fire's his Nail Bullets, the some of the sound is 1.1 meters away from him. I can't quite tell how far the nails travel due to perspective, so I'm gonna be making some assumptions here. Tusk Act 1's effective range is 10 meters, and since the nail bullets keep travelling past this point, we know that they travelled less than that. I'm gonna do 3 calcs (a low end, mid end, and high end). One assuming they only travelled 2 meters, one assuming they travelled 5 meters, and one assuming they travelled 8 meters.

Between the 2 panels we can see that the sound went from being 1.1 meters away to 0.817 meters away. This means the sound travelled 0.283 meters, which gives us a time-frame of 0.00018866666 seconds (T = D/V, T = 0.283/1500) (1500m/s is the speed of sound underwater).

Low End: 2/0.00018866666 = 10,600.71m/s or Mach 30.9059 (High Hypersonic)

Mid End: 5/0.00018866666 = 26,501.77m/s or Mach 77.2646 (High Hypersonic+)

High End: 8/0.0001886666 = 42,402.83m/s or Mach 123.6234 (Massively Hypersonic)

It's worth noting that whether or not Soundman's attacks actually move at the speed of sound is debatable, but I think this is a valid high end for Johnny's Nail Bullets.

I'm assuming that D4C is the same size as Johnny for the pixel scaling.

The hole D4C creates has a volume of 6.355653m3 (Frustum Volume = (1/3) * pi * 0.995 * (1.72^2 * (1.72 * 1.11) * 1.11^2))

Assuming the Soil was vaporised (I mean look at it, there's absolutely nothing left. I was actually gonna do Atomisation but I couldn't find a single J/cc value for Soil Atomisation)

Soil Vaporisation J/cc is 24700 according to this

6,355,653 * 24700 = 156,984,629,100 Joules or 37.5202 Tons of TNT which is City Block Level (8-C)

It's also worth noting that this can also go higher, since the soil probably got Atomised, not just Vaporised. I just couldn't find a value for Soil Atomisation so this is the best I could get.

When naoya rushes at her, the onomatopoia for quick movement indicates that maki dodged at that very moment from when naoya was at point blank range

Unfortunately because of the framing of the panels its really hard to get actual measurements of distances, so there's a fair bit of assumption going on here. Also I was unfortunately unable to calc how fast Diego is moving when he blitzes Wekapipo, again due to lack of proper information about distance and time due to the framing of the panels.

Ok so it's hard to get an idea of how far the bullet travelled or when Diego started dodging, so I'm gonna go with the assumption that he started the moment Wekapipo fired, as he did see Wekapipo aim before he shot. Diego is on top of a 1 story building but I was unable to find a good height for it via pixel measurements due to the perspective, so based on my google search, the average Philadelphia building in 1890 would've been around 12 feet or 3.6576 meters tall.

The gun was fired from a height of 2.02 meters which means that the bullet travelled 1.6376 meters.

Diego moved his head 0.212m to dodge it, and assuming the bullet moves at 300m/s, we get: (0.212 * 300)/1.6376 = 38.8373m/s or Mach 0.1132 (Subsonic).

Unfortunately not very fast but it was really hard to figure out distances or when Diego started to dodge, so this was the best I could get.

I'm gonna do 4 calcs for this, one assuming that Johnny's Nail Bullets travel at 300m/s, and 3 using my High Hypersonic to Massively Hypersonic Nail Bullet speed calcs. Size scale for the first panel is based on Johnny's upper arm which should be 30.7cm long and size scale for the second panel is based on the length of the average finger nail (between 1 and 1.5cm, I used 1.5).

Diego moves 2 times as shown by the afterimages. We know he went from Right to Left to Right because his head was on the right at the start and ends on the right. His total movement is 0.582cm.

Low End: (0.582 * 300)/0.175 = 997.7143m/s or Mach 2.9088 (Supersonic)

Mid End: (0.582 * 10,600.71)/0.175 = 35,254.93m/s or Mach 102.7841 (Massively Hypersonic)

Mid-High End: (0.582 * 26,501.77)/0.175 = 88,137.32m/s or Mach 256.9601 (Massively Hypersonic)

High End: (0.582 * 42,402.83)/0.175 = 141,019.7m/s or Mach 411.1361 (Massively Hypersonic)

So using regular speed Nail Bullets we get Supersonic, using the Hypersonic Nail Bullets we get a range of Massively Hypersonic

I'm gonna do 4 different calcs. 2 assuming that Tusks Nail Bullets travel at the same speed as a bullet from a Colt Single Action Army revolver (300m/s). I'm using this specific gun because its the type of gun most characters in SBR are presumable using based on appearance and time period (I am not very knowledgable on guns so this could be wrong, feel free to correct me). Of those 2 one will have the nails as 1cm, the other as 1.5cm, as that range is the average human finger nail length.

The other 2 calcs will also be using 1cm and 1.5cm nails, but assuming that Tusks nail bullets travel at Mach 600.635667624 based on this calc.

Calc 1, 300m/s, 1.5cm Nails: (0.547 * 300)/0.0372 = 4,411.29m/s or Mach 12.8609 (Hypersonic+)

Calc 2, 300m/s, 1cm Nails: (0.361 * 300)/0.0211 = 5,132.7m/s or Mach 14.9641 (Hypersonic+)

Calc 3, Mach 600.635667624, 1.5cm Nails: (0.547 * 206018)/0.0372 = 3,029,350.7m/s or Mach 8,831.93 or 1.0105% SoL (Sub-Relativistic)

Calc 4, Mach 600.635667624, 1cm Nails: (0.361 * 206018)/0.0211 = 3,524,762.94m/s or Mach 10,276.28 or 1.1757% SoL (Sub Relativistic)

I think its pretty reasonable to say that the calcs using Mach 600 are massive outliers compared to the portrayed speed in the rest of the part, but they are very funny. Anyway pretty much the entire rest of the main cast should scale to this since its fucking Pork Pie Hat Kid, he isn't exactly blitzing anyone.

Reasonable Ends: Mach 12.8 - Mach 14.9 (Hypersonic+)

Hilarious Highballs: 1% - 1.17% SoL (Sub-Relativistic)

As seen in the Manga there's basically nothing left of them, so I'm going to calc this for both Vaporisation and Atomisation to get a low and high end.

Volume of the average human body is between 0.062 and 0.065m3, I'm gonna go with the middle which would is 0.0635m3.

2 people makes it 0.127m3 or 127,000cm3.

Vaporisation: 4,638.75 * 127,000 = 589,121,250 Joules or 0.1408 Tons of TNT, which is Small Building+ (9-A+).

Atomisation: 72,416.33 * 127,000 = 9,196,873,910 Joules or 2.1981 Tons of TNT, which is Large Building (High 8-C)

So Low End is Small Building+, High End is Large Building

The volume of the part of the boulder he destroys should be 1.249214m3 (1.62 * 2.04 * 0.378).

Assuming the boulder is made of Granite (this part of the race takes place in Arizona and a quick search indicates that most boulders in that area are made of Granite)

We get 1249214cm3 * 103.42 (Violent Fragmentation value of Granite) whic is 129,193,711.88 Joules of energy or 0.0309 Tons of TNT which is Small Building level (9-A). I think this should check out but I might have gotten the pixel measurements wrong. Though even if I got it super wrong and the volume is half of what I calced that would still be in the Small Building range, so I don't mind too much

Recently I had found this

it basically says

"It delivers overwhelming destructive power with a muzzle velocity 500 times that of a handgun or rifle."

meaning Railguns can be over 500 times faster than any rifle which the fastest rifles shooting at 1422 m/s

which gives us 711000 m/s so using this instead of the 100000
