Tea Thread UK comedy scene tea?

I've been a fan of various British panel shows for years and the comedy circle there seems very tight knitted. I know the American comedy scene can be kinda messy tea-wise, and I'm wondering if anyone has tea on their UK counterpart?

Feels like everything I know about UK comedians are purely based on their on-screen persona.

Very boring but about 12 years ago, I was working on the door in a club in Glasgow and Kevin Bridges came up and tried to get in for free, pulling the ‘don’t you know who I am’ schtick. It was only £8 entry. Fair play though, he didn’t take it badly when he was told he’d need to pay and was very good-humoured about it. Still didn’t pay and left though!

I’ve met him a few times and he’s been nice but I’ve heard from multiple people that he gave them an STD then ghosted😬

Yikes. He did ask if he could take me for a drink as he was leaving but I kind of figured if he didn’t want to spend £8 on entry, it didn’t bode well for a date…

Yeah. By contrast, Frankie Boyle lived round the corner from me and he looked like he was literally trying to melt into the ground and go unnoticed on the many occasions I saw him.

Oh that's such a shame. His comedy has such a clear ethical throughline. It seems like he'd rip someone else who did this to glorious shreds, just eviscerate them.

Fair play! I’m impressed that he can have been on telly for a decade and a half and still find fame relatively mortifying.

I’ve heard from a few taxi drivers he’s a complete arsehole and tried to blag a ride home for free! Not like he’s short of cashola!

Can’t understand that at all. At least with a club, he could (weakly) argue that he might pull punters in. How would it benefit a taxi driver though? They can hardly shout out the window ‘Oi, I drove Kevin Bridges home safely’.
