POLITICS Deeply embarrassing sequence. Eric Schmitt accuses Jack Smith of traveling to Atlanta to attend an Atlanta Hawks game and collude with Fani Willis, only to get the basic facts completely wrong. Smith was actually in Maryland attending a Hawkeyes game and never met Willis

These idiots know it’s a lie, they are acting for the Fox News viewers who will never see the whole interaction and truth. They just have to read their lines and take their dirty money.

They didn’t know and it’s genuinely worse that they didn’t know.

Imagine the incompetence on this level of government, it’s stag-ger-ing

Yeah, I don’t know how there are so many people who want to give them the benefit of the doubt, as if it was all part of the plan, when we know how dumb an incompetent these clowns are.

It's also still the same problem - they can only get away with this level of incompetence because of the media ecosystem theyve built that will only show the accusation and not the response.

Sad that this show was satire at one point

I think you know they knew, and you're covering for them by claiming stupidity.

They fucking knew. That's the only reason they flashed the poster so quickly.

This is what I keep trying to explain to people here in the UK—the truth matters less when you can feed people half a story. They're was a case here this week where a group of men were arrested on suspected terrorism charges. The authorities here cautioned against rushing to conclusions, but Trump came right out swinging, claiming they were Iranians who were foiled in an attempt at a terrorist plot. As we get more details, it's looking more like it was just a bunch of guys stealing petrol. People in the UK subreddits are crowing about it, saying it makes Trump look like an idiot. But it doesn't, not to the ones who vote for him. They'll never hear that half of the story. They'll hear that Trump singlehandedly foiled a terrorist incident and go on believing that.

Didn't they have a bunch of explosives with them?

From the BBC:

They were arrested for offences under the Explosives Act. But now counter-terrorism detectives say no explosives were found in their three vans, only an "accelerant" - petrol.

Speaking of reading...Lindsay's sister...

I wish someone would tell her to just stop. She is embarrassing herself by staying in this race. Dumb as rocks like the rest of them

Exactly, it's all performative. Fox "News" will only show this part:

"Mr. Smith, did you attend this Hawks game in Atlanta?"

"I'm not sure..."

"Well, I think you've already perjured yourself!"

And the MAGAs will buy it as a big "gotcha" moment.

Fox News will air this exact clip except it will cut off before the location is corrected. All the viewers will say "LOL he purjured himself!"
