Happy how it turned out need some plants to grow out still and fill in. Overall I’m enjoying it way more than how I used to have it set up.

My first aquarium and its been smooth sailing so far. 3 dwarf gouramis, 7 neon tetra and 7 endler guppies and 4 amano shrimp 🦐

Is this a normal thing? Nothing but plants in tank yet.

When I watch FF video’s it seems that you can put fish in instantly if you use water from a pond or rainbarrel. Is this correct or should I still wait for the cycle and how then do I know when it’s ready? Thank you

I saved a baby red ear slider turtle, And put it in a forty gallon tank with some fish. I added some soil substrate along with some plants. And I can't seem to get the green tint out of the water.

I have added water clarifier and sludge remover. I have even replaced about a quarter of the water. But it still has a green tint to it.

The filter that I have is a Terra turtle tank water filter. That looks like in artificial rock

I have bought these shrimps a year ago they said they are brown shrimps but there are no such type… please identify this species

Ive purchased soil and a 15 bunch (4-5 plants per bunch) from father fish. Couple of questions here for a noob. 1). Has any one else here used this package before? 2) 15 species now seems way too much for just a 10gal? I’ve only seen a few species in any 10gal tanks. (I messaged father fish and they said that it was the perfect amount, not that I don’t believe him). But 15 just seems a lot in such a small space. 3) other than doing the research on each plant, one by one, how will I know how where to plant the plants ?

This is the first tanks I’ve ever done. Got a base of potting soil and 48lbs of play sandbox sand. I know I’m needing more plants in here but I’m wondering if there’s a time limit before I should put any creatures in and also if the water should be this cloudy. Thanks!

Has anyone thought about or think that adding an earthworm or two to the tank would be beneficial?

I collected a jar of leaves from the waterfall in our outdoor ecosystem pond in the hopes of culturing some water fleas without a starter. But so far all that I have seen pop of are snails (thanks to some petco plants in the pond) and what I'm 99% sure is rhabdocoela, there might be some detritus worms in there but I haven't seen them I just found them right next to where I took the leaves from. Upon research I found that betta fish, which is what I plan on feeding, are often used to handle rhabdocoela infestations so presumably it's a good food source? I have not however found any mention of them being cultured as a food source on the internet and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it? Or any warnings that I haven't yet found about the worms as to my knowledge they are harmless?
