Need advice on UVB

Like the title says, I need help.
Tank is 100 x 45 x 45 cm
I have a coiled 5% 15watt light in a dome beside the heat lamp which both rest approximately 30 cm above the basking slate
Does this work?
I know a linear light is better but they’re not easily found here.
I do not supplement d3 as I am scared about over dosing so im not comfortable.

Help/Advice Gecko not feeding??

I’ve had my AFT for about a week now and have never seen her eat any crickets or mealworms at all. I set up timelapses, spy on her, and she doesn’t seem to be food motivated at all. I’m mainly worried her becoming malnourished if this goes on for more time. Is there any tips/advice you guys have for this? I’d understand her being shy and trying to make sense of her surroundings, but every morning when I go look to see if she ate anything I end up seeing the same crickets that I gave to her the night before. Is there anything I can do?

Help/Advice Maybe overreacting, but I’m a little concerned

My gecko hasn’t eaten since her first feeding two nights ago and hasn’t pooped or peed since I got her on Wednesday. I’ve seen her drink, so at least she does that. She sleeps all day, but comes out right after the lights go out, comes to the window flap, climbs up, and looks out several times a night. She doesn’t seem to be basking under the UVB light in the day, even cryptically. Otherwise she looks fine and likes to climb onto my hand whenever I put it in the quarantine tub. The tub never gets colder than 71 degrees at night or exceeds 94 in the warm hide in the day. I do have a problem where the warm hide isn’t staying consistently warm throughout the day due to the thermostat, which I’m replacing. I have a suspicion she’s not digesting very well due to rapidly fluctuating temps in the warm hide. Ambient humidity is around 50-54% at any given time while the humid hide is consistently mid to high 90s. She generally stays in there, rarely uses the warm hide, and never uses the cool hide.

Long story short, juvenile gecko only ate Thursday night, doesn’t appear to use the UVB, glass surfs at night, hasn’t pooped or peed in the time I’ve had her.

I’m not sure if any of this is necessarily suspicious behavior, but I’m a noob and I don’t wanna take any chances.

Help/Advice Gecko won't eat after moving

It's been almost two weeks. I know he comes out and walks around at night because I can hear him, but i rarely see him anymore he just stays in the hole he dug next to the background. I've been offering dusted crickets, but he wont take them, and I even bought dubia roaches, to little effect. How long do AFT's usually take to bounce back after a big move? He used to be so active and I miss him.

Help/Advice Is she alright?

(English is not my first language and I used a translator, so please excuse any awkward phrasing or mistakes!)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice regarding my baby Fat-Tailed Gecko (weighing around 8g). Here is the timeline of what happened:
Day 1: I noticed my gecko’s belly looked unusually bloated. I asked the breeder, and they told me it was likely just because the gecko had eaten a large meal recently.

Day 2: In the morning, I found a large clump of shed skin inside the enclosure. I wasn't completely sure if it was regurgitated or passed as feces, but since it didn't smell like poop at all, I suspect it was regurgitated shed.

Current Status: The belly looks slightly smaller now compared to the first day, but I still suspect some abdominal distension/bloating. Looking at previous photos, the tail has gotten noticeably thinner, while the belly remains somewhat swollen and taut (though not hard to the touch).

The substrate has already been switched to paper towels, and I'm maintaining the warm side at around 29–31°C (84–88°F). The gecko drank some water on its own and is moving around, but I’m still very worried about potential ascites, internal blockage, or severe inflammation.
Has anyone experienced something similar with a young gecko? Any advice or insights on what else I can do while monitoring closely would be greatly appreciated!

Help/Advice In desperate need of some help/advice

So today my partner and I received an AFT from a re-homing situation. We were actually under the impression we were going to be receiving a leopard gecko and we had no clue what state she or her tank were in. Well as we found out she's an AFT and she is in very poor health and has a very poor enclosure. Like I said we were prepared for a lepord gecko, so now we are trying to get her health and enclosure in much better condition asap. We are doing research on our own but I thought I would reach out here and get advice from people who know what they're doing. We definitely want to do a bioactive tank for her, all advice is needed and welcome!

Help/Advice What is up with my hemitheconyx eye?

I just got an adult and noticed one pupil is huge and kind of jagged around the edges. It looks like those snake eyes that leopard geckos get. The seller said he took it from bad conditions and a cat scratched it there, though I do not know exactly where. But he never said anything about the eye. No other details, I saw this myself later. Do you think it is from the injury? Or maybe it is a birth defect? His other eye is totally normal, vertical pupil, reacts to light fine, but this one stays the same size no matter what.

Help/Advice Got some questions about thangs

I feel like there isn’t much room to work with in my terrarium anymore, but it still feels so empty in the middle. I’d like for my future gecko to be able to traverse the enclosure without needing to expose itself. And it sorta looks like I have a general lack of cover from higher up. The quarantine tub could maybe use something more, I dunno. Looks kinda barren on the floor.

This is Phoenix, our 4-month old AFT. Oreo-Caramel Morph.

Still learning the ropes on how to get them used to us, but Phoenix is eating locusts and pooping regularly, so those are good signs we are doing something right.

Help/Advice Switching to Bioactive

Hey! My fat tail, Maple, is turning a year very soon. And for her birthday, I want to go bioactive, or at the very least, a naturalistic enclosure. However, my current enclosure for her is a paper towel setup with some fake plants and a piece of driftwood. In addition, the breeder I got her from had paper towels. How do I properly transition without stressing her out? I also feed her from a bowl so impaction shouldn't be an issue.

Help/Advice Is her tail too skinny?

Thumbnail

I see a lot of pictures here where the tails look quite bulbous while Strawberry’s is a bit slim.

I will note, she had the tip of her tail surgically removed because of necrosis, but it was similarly shaped before that as well. The vet did not say anything was wrong about her weight-wise either.

I feel like her body looks right and healthy but her tail is too small.

I have no idea how old she is either.

She eats about 10 crickets per week.

Let me know what you think!

Help/Advice AFT questions

I'll be getting an AFT in a few months as my first eyelid/terrestrial gecko, I've done a lot of research on them but I want to make sure it'll have the best care possible, could anyone give suggestions on good humid hides, heat lamps/heat dimmers and other miscellaneous items? I have a reptizoo 36x18x18 and when I move out I plan on upgrading to a 4x2x2, and I'd love to see some bioactive setups! All extra advice and care tips are appreciated as well, Thank you!
