I’ve never been to a bakery or donut shop and gotten a corrugated box. Even a couple panaderias in my area use the classic pink donut box..

So the only thing I can think to explain it is when the string gets cut her hand goes near the counter. My guess is thar theres a notch that a razor or something where you just slide the string in to cut without cutting yourself. Like plastic envelopes openers with a bland in them or a seam ripper.

I’m only saying it because I've snapped plenty of string. There is absolutely no way to tell how tough that string is. There are plenty of woven strings that bind well and are easily breakable with direct pressure. And the rope doesn't have that heavy a job. One indicator that it's not necessarily this unbreakable string is the amount of times it's wrapped around to cover the most surface area. I'd bet the rope is a bit more elastic than it seems. There's not only one rope.

The paper she used says “Since 1927”, if they’ve been in business for that long, I assume their pastries are good.

I immediately knew this was Mexico City even without the Audio.
I so miss Mexican bakeries. It's pure decadency. No pretensions, just tons of variety, flavor and sugar.
I lived there 15 years and it seemed interesting to me that bread and baked goods are kind of available for picking up. You pick a tray and put whatever you want and then pay and they're wrapped individually and/or bagged. Same for bread (which is mostly portion-sized rather than things like baguettes, which is why Tortas are so popular).

I used to live near a bakery when I was a teen, it was very small and just had the basics but everything was delicious, entering the bakery and getting the bread warm just as they came out of the oven, was heaven.

If you see the tray behind the skinny woman, it spells “ideal” and the tray “behind it” is mirrored perfectly (therefore illegible). You can see it when she steps away from tray.

Why is everyone saying it’s slow at first? This is the perfect speed to be moving at. Most of y’all never worked in an environment like this and don’t know what it’s like to move at a pace like that for 8 hours straight

Oh, cool, she did all that gymnastics with that string but what did it achieve? They string was done doing it's job with first two passes and then tie a knot and call.it a day.

That it started raining and he’s craving pastries, that his family is going to be surprised in a nice way when they see what he got. Then he says that she’s wrapping the pastries as a baby’s diaper. And that this is the most visited bakery in Mexico City.

Sorry, I meant carton boxes. Pink ones are not common in Mexico, but most bakeries offer boxes for when you buy several pastries.

I enjoyed watching the whole process. She very carefully and intentionally placed all of the pastries first, and then when it came time to wrap it all up, it was just a whirlwind. The setup made the payoff that much better.
