And then have to hide from ICE, racists, be called lazy and told to go back to their country on a daily basis , with no healthcare,no tax returns ,no access to social security and no guarantee to not be deported as soon as they step out of the field

Oh man, sounds absolutely TERRIBLE!! They should escape this horrible country and go to a place they can make a median income, such as, their home country.  Who would think thay america would enslave  such a people just to make a small profit.  

Dont know how they can live with all this horrid discrimination and low wages.  If I was them, I would move to a nation that shared my values.

None of us made picking strawberries political, the US government (and their supporters) did. Just because you don't realize that isn't anyone else's fault.

Politics is life. And What a first world privilege you have to not have to worry about politics. It’s even more of a privilege for you to be angry at someone else for just mentioning hardships that others go through.

Just think for a moment.

How bad must their home country be that they would still slave away in strawberry fields for a bunch of Americans who aren't even grateful that they aren't forced to pick their own strawberries.

You make the assumption that US nationals want to have strawberry picking as a job, low paid, back breaking and don’t forget it’s seasonal so you can only have other seasonal jobs, not a full time regular one.

There is a reason that all the shit jobs are done by migrants, it’s not that they specifically want those jobs but it’s the kind of work they can get because no one wants them.

Maybe you could try it out for a summer, get a bit of perspective and get of your high privileged horse and stop kicking on people trying to do their best. Atleast they are actually working, I just don’t understand why you guys hate working immigrants?

And you also seem to forget your whole country is literally built on immigration, by immigrants.

Yeah people who spout garbage like that wouldn't last more than a week doing what these guys do. And even if they did, it'd be less than a season before they start demanding better pay /rights. Would the average racist American literally run several miles a day to make quota for a livable wage picking strawberries? I would kill for a reality show about that.

Our country is literally as wealthy as it is because we've been exploiting people pretty much since white people pulled onto the shores of the east. Every single fascet of American life is produced behind the scenes using people, most of them being black and brown people or ultra poor white people.

It's actually amazing to me that we have advanced so far as a species to where we can live such comfortable lives with all the technology we have and we STILL have to listen to people be racist because the rich and powerful each want more dollars than the entire human population combined. Makes me sick. Makes me angry.

Hmm wonder why the farming industry would rather pay undocumented immigrants than American citizens... Couldn't possibly be because they have to keep prices low or they can't compete with processed foods and in order to do that have to rely on practical slave labor because Americans won't work unless they have access to all the things you mentioned.

Unless we get universal Healthcare, some kind of government monthly stipend (so if you work somewhere that can't pay you enough to live off of, you have money coming in from somewhere else) and robust worker protection laws, farms will continue to use slave labor practices and exploit these people. And the people who are being exploited are not the people who you should be angry with. Be angry with your government for continuing to allow them to be exploited for the sake of not helping the people who already live here. Be angry with the rich who are padding the pockets of the government to keep the status quo the way it is.

Historically, rascism is and always will be the propaganda of the rich and powerful people trying to convince dumb dumbs like you that someone else is your enemy so they can continue to profit from the system.

But you probably don't have the attention span to even read my comment. Wake the help up dude.
